Ok, cure me please: SPIDERS!
First topic message reminder :
Don't know of it's the curse of this place and that bloody thread About spiders, but over the last few days I've had massive spiders in my house.
They freak me out!!!!
Why are they coming in?
Why are they so freaking big?
What am I so scared of?
HOW CAN I STOP BEING SO FREAKED OUT????
There's no point telling me I'm bigger than them blah blah, there's no point (sassy) telling me they catch flies blah blah or even that they spin little cute webs and make orphans blankets.
I don't care.
I hate them and they freak me out.
Any one got any good cures for me? Please??

I hate to say this eddie, but I've lost all sympathy for you re the issue of spiders. There's no need to keep on and on killing them because you can't get over your fear of them. Just get a grip and get over it, and then you can put them out without this hysteria.
Yes, I know it's "only" a spider but it's a living creature.

Re: Ok, cure me please: SPIDERS!
Arachnophobic Brits are now no longer safe to go outside after an explosion in the population of our biggest spider - the size of a RAT.
Numbers of giant fen raft spiders have hit a record level this year, thanks to ideal weather conditions and ecologists' tireless work to SAVE them.
The palm-sized spider, which looks like a hairless tarantula, has an inch-long body and a huge leg-span measuring at least three times that.
Thankfully, the spider prefers living in bogs, and their population stronghold is in RSPB Strumpshaw Fen in the Norfolk Broads, and they pose no threat to humans.
With more than 480 nursery webs counted this season, compared with 184 in 2014, this new population puts the spider in a much more secure position as a UK species - because each inch-long egg sac can contain thousands of babies.

Eddie? Fancy one of those in your garden pond?

Re: Ok, cure me please: SPIDERS!
This thread is disgusting.
I have a lifelong fear (more of a phobia) and when one is in the house (I can sense them) I am a nervous wreck and cannot be in the same room till it's caught. I sympathise with eddie (thread starter) and anyone else who has this fear.
August, September, October and November are the worst times.......and when they come into your house they are actually looking for a mate.
