First topic message reminder :

Don't know of it's the curse of this place and that bloody thread About spiders, but over the last few days I've had massive spiders in my house.
They freak me out!!!!

Why are they coming in?
Why are they so freaking big?
What am I so scared of?
HOW CAN I STOP BEING SO FREAKED OUT????

There's no point telling me I'm bigger than them blah blah, there's no point (sassy) telling me they catch flies blah blah or even that they spin little cute webs and make orphans blankets.
I don't care.

I hate them and they freak me out.

Any one got any good cures for me? Please?? Sad

OZ also has it's own "Giant Bird Eating Spider", resident up in the tropical rainforests of Far North Queensland (FNQ) ~ Australia's sole representative of the Tarantula genus of spiders...

Growing up to a leg-span of 20-25 cms (8-10 inches), our much less toxic wee little native isn't quite as big as it's Brazilian cousin..

Anybody who does encounter it, is much more likely to die from a heart attack, than from any poisonous bites ~ in fact, I have yet to see any reports of any fatalities from actual Tarantula bites. What a Face

There's a similar spider to that in my bedroom at the moment.

There's a few more of those various types of "coffin spiders" nesting around the yard and shadehouse here this year (and less Golden orbs, at the same time..).

However, antivenoms for both species were created in 1956 and 1980 respectively. Billy Collett, head of the spider department at the Australian Reptile Park, told BuzzFeed that since 1979 there have been no recorded deaths from either types of spiders.
That’s right - no spiders in Australia have actually killed anyone in over 30 years.
