What a twat!
He thought that wind turbines are giant fans that are switched on to help blow the air around to help cool things down!!!

Re: Wind turbines cool down the Earth (edited with better video link)
I heard it mentioned on a popular talk radio station, earlier on today, by a guy who said he had an engineering background, that he thought that there are about 350,000 wind turbines around the world and they are collectively absorbing about a million megawatts of kinetic energy out of the natural flow of air currents from the world's atmosphere... And he said he thought that this would of course have an impact on weather systems and would be a major cause for changes in what we would normally see in a wide range of locations... And he suggested that vast majority, if not all, of the unusual weather events we have seen over the last couple of decades are actually the result of the wind turbines altering the natural flow of air currents...!
I have mentioned before on another thread some months ago, that it has been found that areas where wind turbines have been installed actually resulted in warmer temperatures around their locations...
Anyone got any thoughts on this...?
There are some articles and studies that back up this theory...
Seems like common sense to me!

Wind turbines generate electricity by extracting kinetic energy, which slows winds and modifies the exchange of heat, moisture, and momentum between the surface and the atmosphere.

Anything that blocks the wind will slow it down..
That would go for a building, a tree or mountains..
Some I imagine wind turbines decrease the wind speed directly downwind from a wind farm. Same as a small city might.
Bit on a global perspective it's like pissing in the ocean and trying to measure the increase in sea level.

There's further evidence that the downdrafts from wind turbines near farm crops more effectively oxygenate the growing plants and result in higher crop yields for farmers.

I'm not buying thar either.
The additional wind would also dry out crops needing water.
The levels people go to attack or support turbines is all a bit silly ar times. They are a small source of energy that produce inconsistent levels of energy.

They won't be like that forever -- there's a new one out that can generate enough energy per day to power 18,000 homes.
