First topic message reminder :

Don't know of it's the curse of this place and that bloody thread About spiders, but over the last few days I've had massive spiders in my house.
They freak me out!!!!

Why are they coming in?
Why are they so freaking big?
What am I so scared of?
HOW CAN I STOP BEING SO FREAKED OUT????

There's no point telling me I'm bigger than them blah blah, there's no point (sassy) telling me they catch flies blah blah or even that they spin little cute webs and make orphans blankets.
I don't care.

I hate them and they freak me out.

Any one got any good cures for me? Please?? Sad

A sheepish driver has apologised to a petrol station after he sparked a large blaze when trying to kill a spider with his lighter as he filled up.

The motorist can be heard on surveillance video at the garage in suburban Detroit looking at the car and asking: "Is that a spider in there?"

Flames are then seen erupting along the car's side, the pump and the pavement as the man darts to safety.

Petrol station attendant Susan Adams hit the stop button on the pump and called firefighters, but the man had used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames by the time they arrived.

He escaped injury and his vehicle suffered little damage, but the petrol pump was destroyed.

There was a massive spider on my stairs the other day - huge it was! I just got a plastic cup and a piece of cardboard and moved it to the garden. It's just too awful being frightened of them - I wouldn't have been able to go upstairs if I was still that way.

i find it funny that you can fit a 'massive' spider in a plastic cup.... Laughing

I think Aussies have different defintion of massive it is not uncommon to have to use a mixing bowl to catch the big ones Smile

Man's Leg Ravaged By Flesh-Eating Spider Bite

A holidaymaker has described how his leg "resembled something from a horror film" after he was bitten by a venomous spider.

Jonathon Hogg, a keen footballer and kickboxer, has required three operations and a skin graft since the brown recluse spider attacked.

Within hours, the venom began to eat away at the 40-year-old's flesh - doctors say he could have lost his leg had it been left untreated.

Mr Hogg, from north London, said: "The pain was like nothing I've been through in my life. By the time I got to hospital my leg was bursting open, there was pus, it was black."

The barrister believes he was bitten while travelling on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to South Africa, and the airline says it is currently looking into the incident.
