Is Obama determined to start WW3?
First topic message reminder :
US President Barack Obama has accused Russia of flouting a deal on Ukraine.
Mr Obama told a news conference in Japan that Moscow had failed to halt actions by militants in the region and warned that the US could impose further sanctions against Russia.
A contingent of US troops has begun landing in Poland for military exercises amid concerns among Nato's eastern members about Russian intentions.
Moscow has said it will respond to any attack on its interests in Ukraine.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-27139190
That follows his pledge to the Japanese to support them regarding some disputed islands if China attack them, which isn't going down at all well with China!

sure pal
this sounds like another of your "Egypt will be better off now, you will see" prophesies
the sanctions wont hurt Russia because everyone knows you don't bite the hand that feeds, Russian trade with the EU is worth billions.
the euro zone is on the verge of economic collapse and they wont risk a double whammy of billions in revenue lost along with their gas supply
obama is a lame duck and all he can do is threaten empty threats
Yet more babble, the euro zone is recovering very well and they do not need to rely on trade with Russia, America has actually started to release Oil reserves to prove that Russia has nothing to gain from its resources.
Obama will be remembered as the man that got bin laden, people will not remember you
::D::
HAR HAR HAR!! What a load of crap. The euro zone is collapsing all over Europe....that's why everyone's broke.
Countries are seriously thinking of reverting to their previous currencies & in fact many of those countries have already started to re-print their old bank notes.....Because they know the euro zone has had it.
And yes they do rely on Russia for trade & gas.
The Navy seals will be remembered for getting Bin Laden & not Obama.
I often try to workout if you are just a plain good old fashioned liar who will say anything to try & win an argument or if you are really as thick as you appear to be

Yes you are right you did post a load of crap shady and see you cannot move on them with throwing infantile insults, the EU is recovering, as is our nation and all you over is lots of assumptions without any hard based facts.
It will be Obama remembered for it, as can you tell me any of the names of the Navy Seals without looking them up and leaders are remembered for the acts they do.
So what did I lie about then shady? I see your view points are your own views and not facts, so to claim I am lying or thick proves you cannot debate and only talk about me.

What you mean like telling me the Zulu's never had guns and still never admitted your mistake?
Pleeeeeease, I have got you with your pants down so many times, it is impossible to keep track and you still carry on looking the dummy after not admitting you were wrong.
Mate you just make me smile when you are caught out so many times, the funniest for me was when you thought I posted something I did not and went on for pages to then realise your error and claim I edited, which would be impossible to do when it shows when you do edit, that was of epic proportions, so much so you sent me a PM in admiration ha ha.
Still the best is where you used Mein Kampf claiming one of the quotes to be influence from Islam, neglecting to post it in full with the part about Christians, that was again epic and still you argued that it was in regards to Islam.
Mate keep up the entertainment, you always provide me unlimited fun

yet again you have done a "choosing sides" where you didn't read what i actually said about the Zulus and guns, you translated what i said into what you wanted it to say, as you did recently.
the second one is entirely possible since any post made by any person may be edited, there is a little "edit" button to change what they wrote, are you unaware of this?? the gripe i had was that i had you dead to rights and you realized it at the 13th hour and got your change in there
the third one, i remember because it was the usual utter bullshit and wishy washy waffle that as you're so prone to do,and it didn't have anything to do with the point i was making. the rest of the passage mentioned Christians in an unrelated way to the part of the passage i was referring to ie it contained two separate ideas
you in your usual desperation latched on to the part about Christians in an attempt to deflect
keep crowing, it wont change anything

Indeed, the S.Koreans are extremely worried as they know N.Korea is building up it's nuclear arsenal and testing, and they have a total madman at the helm. I should think they were desperate for a bit of help.

OK, who has done nothing but talk, and who has sent troops into a sovereign nation?
Funny how you were talking up Putin for being some kind of "man's man" when all this first happened, now you're calling Obama a warmonger for nothing but words.
Re: Is Obama determined to start WW3?
"Nothing but words" is the worst type of warmongering! Provoking the enemy into action without the will to back it up. Fine for Obama; it's not his gas pipeline that'll be affected, or his vital trade with Russia. Very brave to risk the economies and lives of people in other countries. But that's the sort of man he is.Ben_Reilly wrote:smelly_bandit wrote:

Interesting so you believe in words being very harmful and dangerous then Tess?
That it provokes people.
Must remember that next time when you defend the right of free speech when they are abusive
Like I said, America has the resources to supply the EU and the EU gets one third of its gas from Russia and why should the EU be held to ransom over resources from Russia in the first place?
I think you really are trying to exonerate Putin, badly, when he is the one trying to blackmail and provoke the west by doing so, but hey you never think of that.

Has to be America. Still in Iraq and still in Afghanistan and of course lets not forget over the air in Pakistan and Yemen bombing those people in their own countries via Obama drone strike program

Re: Is Obama determined to start WW3?
What a nob you are. There's a slight difference between an individual voicing his opinion and the leader of a country. When a President speaks he purports to speak for his country, and what he says should reflect what danger he's putting his people in. As for your stupid reply about US fracking gas supplying Europe, well tbh it's just too daft to warrant a reply. And your assertion that Putin's provoking the West, who were the ones encroaching on eastern territory? NATO's crept closer and closer over the past few years - has Russia expanded further west during the same period? No - so who's blackmailing who?Didge wrote:Tesstacious wrote:

Britain now imports four times as much coal as it produces, and Russia, which is subject to international sanctions over Ukraine, is our biggest supplier, providing close to half of all the coal we bring in.

What a blessing it would be if we had to switch away from using coal.
Again you back the view point of blackmail from Russia, how utterly daft and stupid when again we can change to others with resources.
Is it 100% importer from Russia?
No, that means others supply us do they not Tess?

"Let's switch away from coal" - well golly gosh what a brilliant idea, you should suggest it to the government, I bet they haven't thought of that! Of course it could be done overnight as there are so many alternatives just up and running...
As for not buying coal from Russia, the only other countries we get it from is the US and Colombia. I'm sure it isn't expensive at all to bring it all that way; don't know why we bother with Russia at all.

Mainly because I am appalled at your support of Putin and not your own country, I find that incredibly ignorant.
We get our coal from Australia as well, showing you did not even read your own article and how we are phasing out coal as well, seriously did you not even read it?
The point you and smelly utterly miss is it also will financially hurt Russia to stop supplying and they would have to down size their productions, not selling to the west, which of course I am sure you both thought of.
The reality is we have reserves in resources and as stated America has the facilities to ramp up production themselves. You clearly hold to much of an opinion of Putin and for Russia itself "comrade" and our need to depend on them, when we do not, they just happen at present to be the cheapest option.

So what you're saying is that we should support our own country right or wrong! Suppose you supported Tony Blair and Bush too.Didge wrote:Tesstacious wrote:

Ukraine: Pro-Russian Separatists Seize TV Offices
Armed men take control of state TV offices in Donetsk as one captured military observer is released on medical grounds.
Pro-Russian separatists have seized control of state television offices in eastern Ukraine, according to reports.
Four men wearing masks and armed with truncheons were standing at the entrance to the building in Donetsk, while more separatists could be seen inside wearing camouflage fatigues, Reuters reported.
The regional governor's office and the city hall in Donetsk have already been seized by separatists.
One of the masked men claimed to be a member of the Donetsk People's Republic and said the TV station would now be broadcasting Rossiya 24 - a Russian state-owned news channel.
It comes after one of eight Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) observers detained by separatists in Slavyansk was released on Sunday on medical grounds.
First company-sized contingent of about 150 U.S. paratroopers from the U.S. Army's 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team based in Italy attend a welcome ceremony in the airport in Riga The first contingent of US troops arrives in the Latvian capital Riga
Stella Korosheva, a spokeswoman for the separatist mayor of Slavyansk, said the observer who has been freed is a Swedish national.
She said: "He has a mild form of diabetes and so we decided to let him go."
The separatists are not expected to release more of the OSCE observers.
Team leader Colonel Axel Schneider appeared before cameras in Slavyansk to say they are being well-treated and "haven't been touched" by their kidnappers.
They are being protected by the town's self-appointed mayor Vyacheslav Ponomaryovt and "treated as his guests," he said.

"We have no indication when we will be sent home to our countries," he said.
"We wish from the bottom of our hearts to go back to our nations as soon and as quickly as possible."
The head of the OSCE, secretary general Lamberto Zannier, is due to fly Ukraine later on Sunday.
Rebels have accused the observers of being "Nato spies" and vowed to continue holding them.
The US earlier reassured its East European allies of Nato's support as the worst post-Cold War stand-off between Russia and the West continues.
US Vice President Joe Biden spoke with Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban and "underscored the ironclad commitment of the US" to the collective defence of
They "agreed that Russia would face further costs for its destabilising actions in Ukraine and massing of troops along the Russian-Ukrainian border," the White House said.
The US has ruled out sending American or Nato forces into Ukraine, but has begun deploying 600 US troops to bolster defences in the nearby countries of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
Speaking at a news conference in Malaysia, US President Barack Obama said: "We're going to be in a stronger position to deter Mr Putin when he sees that the world is unified and the United States and Europe is unified rather than this is just a US-Russian conflict," he said.
Senior EU diplomats will hold an emergency meeting in Brussels on Monday to discuss sanctions against Moscow.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague said the EU and US would be bringing forward further travel bans and asset freezes against Moscow over coming days as punishment for its "bullying" behaviour.

It is no logistical problem at all, considering they already supplied us 12 million tonnes last year and they export well over 100 million tonnes a year already, let alone what they could ramp up to of which they are trying to secure more of the EU market anyway. We imported last year 40 million of which Russia supplied 18 million and we are down sizing our need of coal anyway.
Norway supplies the majority of our Gas, so in reality Russia could end up being very big losers to a market that already America is trying to take off the Russians, as they have the biggest coal reserve in the world.
So not only does Russia stand to lose so much business, and we have a plan to greatly reduce the need for coal ( by 2022 we will only have one coal power station which uses 7 million tonnes a year) , but America and no doubt Columbia can take advantage of the situation.
We have 14 million tonnes of stock also.

Re: Is Obama determined to start WW3?
Moreover, a boom in sales of US shale gas means longstanding gas exporters such as Russia now have to fight for their share of the market. Europe is increasingly installing specialist terminals that will allow gas to be imported from countries such as Qatar in the form of liquefied natural gas – while Norway's Statoil sold more gas to European countries in 2012 than Gazprom did. "Since the Russian supply cuts of 2006 and 2009, the tables have totally turned," Anders åslund, an energy advisor to both the Russian and Ukrainian governments, told the Washington Post.
Gazprom has no wish to see sales to Europe disrupted. At its annual meeting with investors in London on Monday, company officials were optimistic about its prospects despite a 13% fall in its share price triggered by recent events in Ukraine. Indeed, they predicted Russia's share of Europe's total gas supply would actually increase in future as overall consumption – and Britain and Norway's gas production – declines.
Europe accounts for around a third of Gazprom's total gas sales, and around half of Russia's total budget revenue comes from oil and gas. Moscow needs that source of revenue, and whatever Vladimir Putin's geo-political ambitions, most energy analysts seem to agree he will think twice about jeopardising it. Short of an actual war, the consensus appears to be, Europe's gas supplies are unlikely to be seriously threatened.
