Four Minnesota police officers fired after black man dies in custody
First topic message reminder :

So ... Minneapolis is a pretty big city up in the north of the U.S. ... can we blame this man's death on Southerners in any way?
Four Minnesota police officers have been fired after the death of a black man who was taken into custody and seen on video being pinned down by his neck.
Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said the four officers were now "former employees".
Footage shows the man, George Floyd, groaning and repeatedly saying "I can't breathe" to the white officer.
The incident echoed that of Eric Garner, a black man who died being arrested in New York City in 2014.
The FBI has said it will investigate the Minneapolis incident, which took place on Monday evening.

If you are black and in police custody, you are three times more likely to die than if you're white and in police custody, in America.
That's why the Black Lives Matter movement started. Not because of black-on-black killing, but because of the way law enforcement agencies across the country treat black suspects differently than they treat white suspects.
When there is a massive disparity in the way people are treated, and the only common denominator is race, you have a racial problem. It's entirely logical for people to rise up, demonstrate and demand equal treatment by their government when such problems arise.
The next time you find yourself thinking that BLM is hypocritical because some black people kill other black people, just remind yourself -- BLM's purpose is to get police to treat black people the same way they treat white people, and that's all.
Tey may only be 13% of population but blacks account for a huge level of the crime there... So are more likely to be being dealt with by the police...

Of course, they are picked on by the white majority, and their cops, to the tune of 63%% more--which in itself shows hostility--and so they are going to be arrested and prosecuted by the white establishment that much more. George Floyd is a prime example: stopped for a non-violent, property crime, yet murdered by white policemen who apprehended him.

Black men between the age of 18-45 account for only about 3% of the US population... But responsible for around half of the murders there...
With around 93% of these murder victims being other black people... overwhelmingly other black men between the age of 18-45...!

Nonsense. Blacks do not live as long, so the the middle population is a much greater proportion of the US population. Moreover, they are only responsible for black on black crime. They are recruited into the darker side of crime by being disproportionately picked on by police, and by prosecutors and juries exposing them to longer prison sentences.
Any way you look at it, it's discrimination leaving it's footprint for the next generation to follow.

Okay, what I'm going to say isn't about murder, but I still think it's a good point.
When I was a sports editor, it was a very open secret that the white quarterback of one of the teams I covered was getting high in his car every morning before class. Nobody did anything because he was a hero to the school.
On the other hand, I've heard of black kids getting found out, having a joint in their backpack or locker, and the principal calls the police, who escort the kid to jail to await trial. And even minor possession can land a kid of 17 in prison for several years.
That is a clear example of the difference in how whites and blacks are treated by authorities in America, and indeed a clear example of the privilege afforded to certain people simply for being white -- aka "white privilege."
I know phrases like that and "Black Lives Matter" irritate some people, but they come from real problems. Some people do take advantage of these issues, but they are still real problems that must be addressed.

I don't really mind answering that issues. The response it typically "all live matter".
I agree. So why are police in America killing black men in greater proportion than their numbers in society? If all lives matter, why pick on black men as if their lives don't matter!?
Equal justice under the law has to mean all lives matter equally. How come blacks are not treated equally by police in America?

Re: Four Minnesota police officers fired after black man dies in custody
In US the numbers of deaths in custody...
Arrested black people = 3 in 10,000 in cuatody
Arrested white people = 4 in 10,000 in custody
Although I think that 1 is too many regardless of ethnicity... but the fact of the matter is that no matter how gently and carefully a criminal suspect might be arrested and detained by police... especially if the criminal suspect is resisting arrest and additional physical restraint and interventions are required... there will always be the possibility that some will die during being arrested or while being in custody...
And I also think that that George Floyd was directly killed by cop with his knee on his neck... which was totally wrong... And should never happen to anyone while being arrested by police...!

Your numbers are bogus, as I previously pointed out when you first posted them. You've been visiting too many RW, "alt.truth" websites, again tommy.

You do, more than occasionally. I recognize the arguments you carry over to here.
In any case, without substantiation, your numbers are meaningless. You can't just say things and wish them to be true.

Yep, pretty confident. If you were the original source, you would have the links to substantiate your argument. You don't. Hence, my confidence.
