Looks like these are two people who should never have been near a gun.
Two police officers playing Russian Roulette in an apartment, one gets shot in the chest and dies.

How stupid. They're supposed to point the gun at their own heads!

Permit me to remind everyone that this is St. Louis, Missouri, where they typically shoot blacks, and ask questions later?
Does anyone remember neighboring Ferguson, where BLACK LIVES MATTER started?
When these cops aren't doing their duty shooting blacks, I reckon this is the way they pass time.
Fookin southerners.

Hi Quill. How are ya?
The policewoman who played Russian roulette was called Alix.
Irony of all ironies, the only Alix I know of, in history is the granddaughter of queen Victoria who had an arranged marriage with tsar Nicholas and thus became empress of the huge Russian empire, one of the most powerful women in the 19th century world. (And remember, her own life was quite tragic too, as it happened)
What a pointless waste of a young life.

Hmmm, sounds fishy to me.
The woman was shot dead, it's only on the word of the two males who were there at the time who say she was playing Russian Roulette with one of them.

When innocent members of the community are shot dead by the police, their bosses close ranks and take their word as gospel truth and back them up, so it would be interesting to see if that's the case here too.
Alix's mum does not believe the story anyway.

"Only in America..."
A few states in the US still employ congenital idiots on minimum wages as cops, and give them guns with zero training and no checks ..
Apparently this is one of those.

And yet we've got such excellent police forces in the west coast and northeast. America needs to be divided, untie the mooring lines, and set the idiots adrift.

I hope you're not suggesting that people who get minimum wage are "congenital idiots".

That's certainly a part of the problem. There's no money in the south >> less intelligent authority in the south. But it's also true that less intelligent authority in the south >> less intelligent and wealthy people being attracted to the south.
Set 'em adrift. Let 'em join Argentina and the other banana republics.

Cops don't make minimum wage. This cop wasn't employed by the state. City cops make a pretty good buck.
This isn't stupidity, but likely a lie and a cover up.

What kind of warped mentality plays such dangerous games? Clearly they have little regard for the lethal weapons they carry and that explains a lot of their actions.
Alix's boyfriend was present. The onduty cop visited her to play this roulette game. Wouldn't surprise me if it was some weird sexual game that went wrong.

If you load one round only in to the cylinder of a Revolver and spin the cylinder, the weight of the round, [ If the cylinder is lubricated] will always stop at the bottom of the cylinder away from the firing pin !

She was married, neither of the men were her husband or boyfriend.
She was off duty, the two men were on duty. The apartment where this happened belonged to one of the men.
It's possible she was innocent of playing the game of Russian Roulette, the two men could have made that up to cover up what really happened.....she isn't around to put her side forewards.
It all sounds very odd to me.

They also left their assigned beat to visit her. There is more to this story than 3 cops playing a dumb game and unfortunately one of them cant give her side.Syl wrote:Jules wrote:What kind of warped mentality plays such dangerous games? He just heard it.....I wonder why the woman went to the apartment in the first place?
Another male officer present at the apartment told investigators he warned Mr Hendren and Ms Alix not to play with guns and reminded them they were police officers. He was about to leave when he heard the fatal shot.

Those conditions and pay rates seem similar to what police could expect in NSW, Victoria and Queensland (before allowing for exchange rates..).
Down here, though, our local police are a division within the state police -- we don't have separate police forces. Just each state (6) and territory (2), plus the Federal Police which largely mirrors your FBI in it's jurisdiction..
Watching those reports of police shootings over there, there often seems to be big differences between your bigger police forces (e.g. California, New York, Texas..) and many of those mid-western and southern regions.

State police and larger or more wealthy city police have the higher standards. County Sherrifs deputies who patrol rural areas have the lowest.
It's not down to region as much as it is to type of force.
But even big city cops in progressive areas can be incompetent. That's why your countrywoman Justine Damond is dead.
