And no, before you launch into one of your rants, I am not a climate change denier; it is happening now and is serious, just as it has happened on previous occasions in the planet's four and a half billion year history when, no doubt it was just as serious to whatever happened to be around at the time.

The big difference today, of course, is that those who even query the actual causes are ridiculed, abused and ostracised, not only by governments who are discovering more and more exciting new "green" punitive taxes that they can impose but also academe - such as the statistics manipulating University of East Anglia -  who see the justification for ever increasing public funding of their research departments being called into question.
