I live in a very safe Tory seat, so what would have been the point in voting?

So why point out that it's a safe seat at all then? You didn't vote because your vote wouldn't have made a difference - IYO.

Fred is definitely a sexist pig -- as shown by his regular attacks against sassy, and other women..
Fred is a racist -- as shown by his regular pathetic apologies over British colonial crimes..
Fred is a nationalist nutter -- clearly demonstrated in his rabid attacks against me, veya and Quill.
Thorin, nicko and Victor may may well find that old fuckbrain Fred a charming old soul, but I can't imagine Moletrousers having too many supporters amongst the non-English members on here..

Really?
Show me any post, where Fred has been sexist?
Show me any post, where Fred has been racist?
Show me any post, where Fred has been Nationalistic nutter?
I find your immaturity embarrassing. That yet again, you make unfounded accusations at people. This is all the Far left are able to do. They cannot counter views made by the likes of Fred and instead as you do, scream "racist". You then actually make this racist based on a view, non-English people would support him, even though Quill does support Fred as a poster. He may not agree on views, but Quill likes Fred. As do I, as he rarely if ever is abusive. And more than anything is generally impartial. Where many here are swayed by their confirmation bias.
So learn to grow up and put up or shut up on your false accusations.
Thanks

Re: GENERAL ELECTION 2017: The Results
Corbyn had the entire RW press against him, and has been undermined by the 'LW media' (so, the Guardian and Independent) since he became leader. And still came within a few thousands votes in marginal seats of becoming Prime Minister.
No one gave him a chance before the election campaign, me included. In 2 months he has gone from 20 pts behind the Tories to almost level. Pretty impressive, all it took was the broadcast media giving him a fair hearing.
A few years of Tory/DUP/Scottish Tory squabbling and imagine what he can do then...
I'd say he's done very well and looks very promising if this Tory led coalition of chaos fails

Oh I read and understood it, there's not much I don't understand, but there was nothing constructive about it. What it actually showed was that you are completely behind the times and have no idea why we knew there was going to be a huge swing to JC and that the newspapers and TV are now completely irrelevant. So, you thought it was constructive, I thought it was bollocks. And if you have never heard a lady say 'bollocks' before, you have led a very sheltered life.

I think you mean Coalition of Chaos with links to Terrorists lol. In fact, as it seems that having a coalition with the DUP might very well be against the rules of the Good Friday Agreement and the Tory knives are already out for May, I'd be very surprised if it lasts any time. Just the right way to go about having a good basis for Brexit negotiations!

What do people think of these policies by the DUP?

To reduce the rate of Corporation Tax to at least 12.5%;

To freeze then cut or abolish the TV licence and reform the BBC;

To cut the VAT rate for tourism businesses;

To introduce a Trade Accelerator Plan including an enhanced range of initiatives to help support both new and existing exporters to explore new markets;

To abolish Air Passenger Duty;

To establish low tax, deregulated Freeports in economically underdeveloped parts of the UK

To reduce the number of Government Departments and reduce the number of Special Advisors;

To introduce a Civil Service Voluntary Exit Scheme yielding annual savings of approximately £100 million;

To create new trade, investment and innovation hubs in key global markets;

To introduce alternative models of public sector service delivery such as increasing the use of social enterprises.
The DUP manifesto is rather better in places than that Conservative manifesto:
The DUP pledged:

Re: GENERAL ELECTION 2017: The Results

Oh I read and understood it, there's not much I don't understand, but there was nothing constructive about it. What it actually showed was that you are completely behind the times and have no idea why we knew there was going to be a huge swing to JC and that the newspapers and TV are now completely irrelevant. So, you thought it was constructive, I thought it was bollocks. And if you have never heard a lady say 'bollocks' before, you have led a very sheltered life.
Given that you obviously regard any comment that represents political sentiment slightly to the right of Mao T'se Tung as "bollocks" and clearly understand anything not issued by the Labour Party press office far less than you think you do, nothing that you say would surprise me - "sheltered life" of not.
JC, by the way, does not stand for Jesus Christ, and we unbelievers are allowed to speak his (with a small 'h') name without having to genuflect.
How silly was that lol. Nope, he's definitely not Jesus, he's just a man with enough guts to stand up and take the hate and the flack for espousing ideas and views that we agree with. Nobody's had the courage to do that for a long time.
And when I said you understand nothing, you reinforced that by referring to the a press office. The one journalist who has finally 'got it' is Jon Snow:
Jon Snow admits the media 'know nothing'
World news Last night
Channeling that *other* Jon Snow, Channel 4 presenter Jon Snow has summed up how badly journalists got the UK election wrong, saying he, and other pundits “know nothing.”
