Copeland By-Election Results: Conservatives Beat Labour In Historic Victory
Labour has suffered a humiliating by-election defeat after losing Copeland to the Conservatives.
The Cumbrian seat has been held by the party since it was formed in 1983 but Tory Trudy Harrison snatched it by 2,147 votes in a historic victory.
It is the first time a governing party has taken a seat from the opposition for decades.
Harrison polled 13,748 votes to 11,601 for Labour’s Gillian Troughton.
The stunning Tory victory will heap pressure on Jeremy Corbyn over his divisive leadership of the party.

The Liberal Democrats increased their share in both recent by-elections. A positive outlook, along with the fact UKIP failed AGAIN
Labour need to fix their situation and fast. Corbyn, whatever some of us think of his politics, is NOT going to beat the Tories in 3 years time. He must go.

At this rate, the Liberals will overtake Labour and become second to the Tories.
Labour is run by Far left regressive's these days.
I can see the party splitting into two, with the bigger majority being Center left.

I won't be too optimistic about the Liberals yet. In vote % they were 4th last time round and lost 80% of their seats. That warrants an enormous comeback. Fortunately UKIP at least are looking dead in the water.

In Copeland voters were given a choice. "Vote for Jeremy Corbyn or your hospital will close and you will die". They preferred death.
