Re: General election 2017
Close run thing between Tory and Lib Dem.
I tend to vote for the candidate rather than the party, and finally opted for the sitting MP because although she made a right tit of herself trying to become a TV "celeb" she has served the constituency well since she was elected.
I must to admit to having being tempted by the Labour candidate (yes, honest!) because she is local and seemed to be committed to the constituency...but then she enthusiastically endorsed that weird Marxist tub thumper Corbyn at a meeting. 'nuff said.
The Monster Raving Loony Party candidate, I am told, has great legs. Maybe I've made a mistake..........

Re: General election 2017
the interesting thing about that election prediction poll is that the SNP only get 43 seats, I doubt if the LD's or labour will be taking most of them so that, I presume, means the tories could have a dozen or more seats in Scotland and that would surely cut chippy off at the knees in her desire for independence.

Exit polls predicted the Tories would get 316 and then they won 324 in 2015.
I think the Tories will win 330, but it shows their campaign has been a mare.

Reports are the Youth have come out to vote this time to over turn the cowardice of the old that have tried to destroy their future with Brexit.

Those would be "the old" who had made certain that "the youth" actually had a future, I take it?

Funny thing is that most of these now older tory voting people, when they were aged 45+ back 20 years ago, probably then voted labour... but have since learned the lessons as to why voting labour is a big mistake having lived through 17 years of labour ruining the country...

I think its brilliant the young have got off their bums and voted.
The future is theirs....hopefully it will be a better one than predicted by many.
I also think many oldies turned away from Conservatives.....I believe May, not showing her face and debating in the election run up, also seeming to disregard great swathes of pensioners,(many who have been lifelong Con voters) so they either voted for someone else or didn't even bother to vote at all....all made for the result she got got,

Lost deposits
When a party gets less than 5% of the vote in a constituency, it loses the £500 deposit each candidate needs to put down to stand.
The fib dems lost their deposit in around 375 seats... and the greens lost theirs in well over 400 seats, only actually holding onto their deposit in 11 seats!!!

The Greens are likely used to it. How many deposits did UKIP lose?

Well, they are a bit surplus to requirements now. At least if Farrage returns it will put a bit of fun back into politics...apart from Boris the Buffoon the rest of the line up seem to be bloody boring.
The Beast of Bolsover (Skinner D.) is always good for a chuckle, the mischievous old bugger, but he's getting past it. Was he re-elected, by the way? I quite like the chap.
