we all agree on the need to better secure the border and punish employers who chose to hire illegal immigrants, we are a generous and welcoming people in the united states but those who enter the country illegally and those who employ them disrespect the rule of law and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law.
We simply cannot allow people to pour into the united states, undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently diligently and lawfully to become immigrants in this country

People in the US arguing against Illegal immigrants entering the US. Many of which are seeking to better their lives and seek sanctuary from persecution. Where there own existence in the US is based on their ancestors doing the exact same thing. Fleeing persecution and seeking sanctuary into the US.

The reality is and why there is so many illegal immigrants, is because nobody is ever wanting to properly tackle the problem within these countries that people are fleeing from. Remove the threat to their lives and you dramatically remove the need for people to flee that suffering.

One of the biggest problems is the drug wars and barons, of which the US should have learnt before during the Prohibition. That the war on drugs, is a massively costly and continual failure. Its because of drugs, that there is so many problems in South American and yet US policy, through its wars on drugs, have continually maintained this perpetual war. So what happened when Prohibition ended?

It ended up removing the sale of the product from the hands of criminals.

Controls were put in place to make safe the sell of alcohol strength, thus being better for those using

It became a tax money maker.

The Police fighting an endless losing battle, were not long after able to better use their resources.

Those buying illegal liqueur, soon stopped associating with many of these criminals.

This is why if drugs were legalized, it would go a long way to solving the poverty, violence and corruption in South America.

There are very few border walls or fences in the world, though. Most borders are marked by a sign, a guard post, a gate, etc. It's highly unusual for two countries that aren't at war to have fence or wall-level security at the border.
