The essence of writing is to say what you want to say.  You cannot misquote, but you definitely can point out to your interlocutor that a certain passage is attributable him or her.  Indeed, that way you can be certain the two of you are on the same subject.

I really would prefer not to borrow anything from you, but unfortunately your words perfectly framed the subject that I wanted to address.  I would have said the same remarks if anyone else had framed the subject...particularly if they were uniquely expressed by choice modifiers and pronouns.

I see no reason in redefining the subject, especially if your words provide a tacit common understanding.

Juvenile is the reason I've not posted here for a while.   This whole forum revolves around a handful of idiots who can't be civil to save their lives.   It got that tedious for me, I've stopped posting here.  They're like worms at the rotten core of an apple. The bottom line, it's boring and dull and predictable.   I came back on here today just in case things might have improved, but no.   Rinse and repeat.   No wonder this place gets few new members.
