What do you think your fellow posters bring to the forum??

Eddie asked the question to someone in the  other thread, so.... do we see ourselves as others see us? I doubt it somehow.

We all have opinions of others on forums, some peoples opinions about us  seems to be set in stone even before they actually read what we have to say ... others are more open minded and actually listen to what our views are, responding to them and not some preconceived notion of what they think we mean....….either way, we all have our favourite posters (yes we do)

So what is your opinion, which may differ greatly from others, about the varied and interesting posters on this forum?

I will start off with Tommy, even though we dont often enter the same threads I still read what he has to say because he very often offers an alternative viewpoint to the majority.
He will usually respond to others in a debate (which is definitely a plus point( rather than ignoring difficult questions put to him.
I also like the way he sticks to his guns if he has a point to make....he isnt Mr Popularity, he doesnt come here to be liked, he comes here to have his say and if you dont like that.....that's not his problem.

Some posters I think of as the quiet ones, but they always make good points, Vintage and Nicko are quiet posters imo, and they never look for arguments either.

Gelico and Eddie bring fun to the forum, quick, sharp and witty. I usually agree with most of what they say.....I think they would be in real life exactly as they are on the forum.

Quill is more complicated, undoubtedly clever, so much so I often have to read his posts twice, and even then I dont always understand what he is saying.....but he has a sweet side to him, and he can be chatty too, which is nice.

Rags is very logical, straight talking and doesnt suffer fools.

Didge....either really good forum company or would argue night is day and blue is black....for days.
He can be really generous with his compliments or really free with his insults, not sure if it depends on his mood or whether he simply likes to argue......but he does post some really thoughtful youtubes.

Some are honest in thier beliefs, (notic I say beliefs) like Gelico, Eddie, Nems, Tommy, Nicko, Lord Foul as they say it as it is

Others try poorly to be neutral, when in reality they are more concerned over offending someone and more so what others think of them

That means they have been infected by the PC Virus

I have rarely cared what people think of me on here (yes I get very passionate over what I beleive. Not what people think of me) and why I have not reached out to any of you in the real world. I already have friends and this is a place to let off steam.

As the reality is, most here are a buffer to offload with and debate. In the real world I am very different and why I keep a distance on here. As I want this to be a place that I can test many limits

Its nothing personal with anyone

Its why the person I respect the most is Lord Foul

He has no side or buddies or favorites

He sees things how they are to him and is not afraid to take anyone to task. Even those I mentioned are at times hessitant. Rags comes close but cannot admit when wrong. Where as Lord Foul can.

Not one poster is even comparable to Lord Foul

I would make an exception though on wanting to meet someone here and that would be Lord Foul and (Fred)Edmund. As they would be so much more interesting to meet

I have to agree with Didge here...

Tommy has often insulted others on NF --  Quill, veya, Eilzel, me, Andy (and the likes of sassy and Sexy Mama in the past..) --  as well as regular abuse against Didge himself..

Most people won't complain simply because they're either abusing him back, or laughing along with Tommy's jibes.

This is my problem as well, I don't feel right about picking out posters for good or not, I don't want to forget anyone either so I'll just say that I find most on here are pretty much honest in their opinions and thoughtful about their replies not to mention quite diplomatic, There are those who are very humorous and others that really take things far too seriously on times. There are times when I don't understand a reply at all, obviously that could be me. Now and again we get what I call the carousel effect where one or two posters just can't seem to move on from a point, while I admire tenacity I think it can go too far with pages of virtually the same statements made or questions asked (without answer). Then sometimes we get into the obsessive. That's life on a forum, it wouldn't be much use if we all came here to agree on everything.

Ben is incredibly patient ( he must be to run a forum) apart from his posting style he makes Eddie happy, so I like him for that as well.

Horatio is a girl after my own heart, I love the way she puts people in their place, but she does it with humour, and she makes some great threads up about arty things sometimes to.

I dont think most kids are upset when they find out Santa doesnt exist, you time it so they are old enough to accept he is a myth...and tbh, the presents are their priority anyway. We used to tell our son and grandsons that if they sang a tune the fairy tree may drop pennies down for them....I actually think they cottoned on it was us long before we told them …..kids can be cleverer than we are sometimes.

I dont think most kids are upset when they find out Santa doesnt exist, you time it so they are old enough to accept he is a myth...and tbh, the presents are their priority anyway. We used to tell our son and grandsons that if they sang a tune the fairy tree may drop pennies down for them....I actually think they cottoned on it was us long before we told them …..kids can be cleverer than we are sometimes.

We were talking about the way a poster debates in regard to other posters, and I stand by what I said.

Tommys (or anyone elses) views on Homosexuals or any other subject is a different matter.
We can vehemently disagree with what someone elses opinion is, but thats not what we were talking about here.

I know Eilzel is homosexual....if Tommy, for whatever reason doesnt like homosexuality thats his opinion....you either want free speech or you dont. People are allowed to voice their opinions on a relatively free speech forum, and Im sure Eilzel would agree with that.
If Tommy was horrible to Eilzel because of his homosexuality  thats a different matter obviously.
