Yet another terrorist outrage by yet another demented terrorist, determined to strike fear into a society and system that he didn't agree with...
All sides of Australian politics and society have been sending their condolences, and reinforcing their support and comradeship to Britain this arvo'..

Do we know the motive yet? The reports say he acted alone, but at the same time, seven people have been arrested in connection with the attack.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
I think the police have to be extra vigilant at the moment. This attack is quite bizarre. OK, so the man took out some pedestrians and one police officer, but it's a bit amateur isn't it? I'm wondering if it was designed as a distraction from a bigger event which has been planned.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
I wonder what the actual plan was, and if it went to plan. Was the idea really to run a load of people over, crash the car, go in the gates to Parliament and stab a policeman? The man took some knives with him, so he clearly expected to stab someone at some point, but who? Running over pedestrians would have alerted the police very quickly, so why do that?
Nobody could hope to get into the Houses of Parliament under such circumstances. I dunno - it all seems so random. It's not unlike the attack on Lee Rigby - they ran him down before they attacked him, but they did have a specific target.

Its utterly heart breaking.
Seeing the pictures of the dead and dying, then reading who they were.
Just lovely ordinary people going about their lives, never to return home, and the families and friends of them, and the bystanders who were caught up in this atrocity....none of them will ever ever be the same again.

Terrorists/madmen who set out to kill like this are possibly drugged up to the eyeballs....they could have a plan of what they want to do but maybe they just want to kill as many they can whilst they are doing it.

Possibly, but it's been said that others have been arrested in connection with the attack. That would suggest there was a specific plan.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
Well the police have named him so this time they have probably got it right.
52 year old Khalid Masood.
.............................
That was the name he died with, seems he swapped and changed his names several times, which indicates he had a lot to hide as he went through life.
He started committing so called petty crimes when young, and carried on for 20 years. The accounts of the people he murdered, all good and decent members of society....gone, because of this warped damaged waste of space.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
I'm never quite sure about those kind of messages after a terrorist attack. Of course those who were nowhere near are going to carry on - it didn't affect them. I think it must be hard for friends and families of those who are killed to read that kind of stuff though. They're not just going to carry on as if nothing happened.

he's an English teacher apparently.
Scotland Yard are quoted...
'However, he was known to police and has a range of previous convictions for assaults, including GBH, possession of offensive weapons and public order offences.
'His first conviction was in November 1983 for criminal damage and his last conviction was in December 2003 for possession of a knife. He has not been convicted for any terrorism offences.'

A teacher? He had previous convictions - don't they check that kind of thing?

Was going to say we've seen many killings, from wars, IRA to islamic terrorists. We will never be afraid nor bow down to them.

We already did bow down to the IRA - or rather the Government did. They let murderers out of prison early - that should never have been part of the agreement IMO.

I agree Fen, but it was all part of achieving peace. This happens all round the world, give a bit, see what happens.
We may not like it, but this will happen with radical Muslims one day.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
If anyone wants proof that the Israeli conflict is not because of occupation, but on how Islamic teaching around transgression and a claim to ownership through conquer of land by Arabs Muslims?
Then just see how what the UK faces was born from the Islamic school of terror in Palestine. One not born of peace, but one born of Islamic supremacist hate.
Of course the Far left across the water will as usual claim Jewish conspiracies over the Israel lobby, over some aid of a diplomat, whilst ignoring Britain voting against Israel in the UN countless times.
This is what the UK faces and its time we woke up as well as Muslims to this hate.

This has always been about Islamic Supremacy, as where was all these terrorist attacks in the West Bank under Jordanian occupation between 1948 -1967 and Egyptian Occupation of Gaza between 1948 and 1967?

I won't ever agree with letting murderers out early. What is that saying to the victim's friends and family? That their life wasn't worth anything, and they don't deserve justice. These people weren't political prisoners, they were murderers.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
A terrorist rams his car into a crowd. Then he steps out and starts knifing civilians.
That was Wednesday in London, but in Israel it can be any day of the week.
So the terrorist attack at Westminster outside Parliament, which killed four, would surprise no Israeli, particularly as to this pattern of terrorism. In Israel it’s been going on for years…deadly car rammings and indiscriminate knifings as a method to strike fear into the heart of an entire population.
Now the entire world knows how it feels, but it all begins in Israel, where Islamic terrorists try out new tactics to see how the rest of the world will respond. I call it spring training for Radical Islam. If the response is full support for Israel, we win, they lose.
But if the world says the terrorists had an excuse…if the world says Israel must give up more land to pacify Muslim extremists…we lose, they win.
So yesterday violent Islam won again, this time in London, from where the UK’s foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, only a few weeks ago, warned Israel that it must absolutely abide by a two-state solution – must split itself in half to make happy Hamas, Abbas, the PA, the PLO and the rest of them that seek Israel’s destruction – along with the rest of Western civilization.
Does nothing get learned?
The brave talk fools nobody, not the Islamic hot heads first of all. “We remain defiant,” said one Member of Parliament over at the BBC.
Defiant, how? You keep bringing more of them in.
Basic math says the more terrorists you bring in, the more you are bound to suffer the consequences.
Granted, they are not all terrorists, but so inclined from specific countries. Our President, Donald Trump, keeps trying to keep them out.
So far he has not been entirely successful because of certain judges who tolerate anything, including rape, in the name of Tolerance.
In the name of Inclusiveness they give in to terror, and so, an hour after the attack, another Member of Parliament told the BBC:
“We will never give in to terror.”
Have you tried getting on a plane lately – without being near strip-searched? Every big city has quadrupled its police force and its intelligence gathering operations. Walls have gone up all over Europe – and we are building a wall. Check points everywhere. Constant alerts – if you see something, say something.
What is that? That is giving in to terror, and it’s happening all over, and electing a Muslim as London’s mayor stopped nothing.
Over the months, Mayor Sadiq Khan has called Trump’s proposed travel pause offensive and “ridiculous.”
Now what’s he say?
Kahn also said that every big city around the world ought to be ready and to expect terror attacks.
No, Sir, we never expected any such business until we shut our eyes and flung our doors and borders wide open.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
amidst the horror of all this I found this posted elsewhere
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

no. he is a hill Shepherd that thinks he IS defending his tribe
people that think they 'need' to defend their tribe are the problem
Simple as that . people that understand people are people Don't do things like this
normal people don't think it is okay to hate other people merely for Race or Religion
Yet YOU think it's ok to hate on the basis of where someone was born?
You are a hypocrite Veya, but I suspect you have been told that before.

Come on miffs... don't you see how the 'double think' works yet...!?
To people like veya... all people here in uk with British citizenship are british and equal in every way, regardless of race/creed/colour/religion/ethnicity/country of origin etc... all proper British!
Except of course when he is throwing his hatred this way... then it is only SOME of the british that he is targeting... only the white skinned English British who have ancestry here dating back a few hundred years or more...
It seems that only then he thinks that we are the 'proper british'... and other non white/english here aren't 'proper british'...
What a racist that veya twat is!!!

Defiant, how? You keep bringing more of them in.

What is that? That is giving in to terror, and it’s happening all over, and electing a Muslim as London’s mayor stopped nothing.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security provided Trump with a report that detailed how the countries on his ban list do not send terrorists our way, so to portray him as trying to protect America is fallacious.
He made his bigoted, ignorant fans a promise during the election that he desperately wants to keep. Unfortunately for all of them, it violates the United States constitution to require a religious test to enter the country, or to block someone from legally entering the country except in cases of national emergency.
The judges who have knocked down his ban attempts didn't do that because they're tolerant of rape, it is because they took oaths to uphold the constitution. He did too, but you see how easily he breaks promises:

I see that the press are interviewing anyone and everyone who might have known Masood or who maybe passed him in the street one day.
Here is an article which explains how people called him "The Vampire" because he went out at night wearing black clothes. Is this really relevant? I sometimes go out at night wearing black clothes too.

Here's an article on his mother, complete with pictures of cushions and bags that she makes. Again, is that really relevant? The Sun seems surprised that she wants to be left alone.

Re: Shooting and stabbing at Westminster.
They have also interviewed family of his first wife who fled in terror from him because he beat her up and tried to control every aspect of her life.
He abandoned his second partner who he had two children with.
Various people who knew him describe him as a psychopath and a trouble causer.
Far better to know the truth about a person like this, better than when deranged murderers are being described as nice ordinary kind neighbours and friends, which sometimes happens after the event.

Several people have indeed described him that way. It's so easy to be "wise" after an event, and in any case, cushions and bags that his mother makes is not the issue - it's an invasion of her privacy.

Sickening that the firm which organised the gofundme donations for the dead police officer has already taken a £32K cut. I do hope they change their mind. Surely they can make an exception?

How can they 'sort out the prisons'...?
Stop arresting and prosecuting Muslim criminals?
They've been doing that already for 20 years by covering up the huge numbers of pakistani Muslim child rape gangs up and down the country...
But even still, there are so many Muslim criminals about over here that they make up about 13% of prison population while only about 3% of general public population!!!

On LBC talk radio yesterday, there were quite a few prison officers ringing in saying that when the news broke of the twrroist act, the Muslim prisoners went into high celebrations and cheering.
That wasn't on the main news though.

Poor form. But it doesn't surprise me. They are in prison for a reason. A far cry from the reaction of ordinary London Muslims who were of course appalled.eddie wrote:Jules wrote:Masood the evil fiend got radicalised in prison. He came out a changed man. Sort out the prisons urgently!!
