I am fairly new on there and I know the higher the post count the more the forum opens up. I don't believe there are secret rooms, if there are I am not in any of them. The forum I see is chatty and interesting....and the best way to judge a forum is by being part of it.

Lots of forums have hidden areas anyway... mostly to keep out spamming and trouble causers.
Some forums are only viewable to members, some are 100% open to everyone, some are mostly open but have one or two parts that only members can see.....nothing wrong with any of them, it's personal choice.
