Are you a forum fibber?
I bet everyone will say NO.
Some people do lie though, it's second nature to make themselves look more interesting than what they really are.

I'm not very interesting at all, so I don't have to lie about it

I'm not interesting either, in fact people tend to forget I'm around half the time!

It's harder for some us who are also on social media with people that we post on forums with.
So I have to keep it pretty honest.
I couldn't fabricate an entire fake life like Quill can on a forum, unless I kept my social media seperate.

People who think they are uninteresting are often the most interesting of us all.nicko wrote: I'm not very interesting at all, so I don't have to lie about it

Even on forums where people keep their private life more detached, I think the fibbers can be spotted soon enough.

I can honestly say I really only speak from my heart.
I often waffle on but it’s always honest.

Re: Are you a forum fibber?
I am truthful....I cant lie even in real life, I am rubbish at it.
Must say though that some of the more interesting characters on forums are the ones who wouldn't know the truth if it smacked them in the face.

I believe in telling the truth. The truth hurts some people, though.

I was going to answer before... but all I was going to say was 'no'... and I didn't think that was an interesting enough addition to this thread, so I didn't bother...

Re: Are you a forum fibber?
I'm sure I've said things that weren't 100 percent true, though usually by mistake or through my own misunderstanding or bad memory.
I'm sure I've sometimes nutshelled things so much that I said something that wasn't technically true -- something along the lines of, "she came by my office on Tuesday and asked for a bribe" when actually she came by my office Tuesday but called Wednesday asking for a bribe.

Ahhh, but they are not fibs or lies, they are memory blips, and the older you get the more they happen.
Since lockdown I have gone entire days believing it's Sunday when it's Wednesday...so confusing Tuesday with Wednesday is hardly a mistake at all.
Speaking of age, I wish I had not been so forthcoming about mine when I first joined forums. I proudly talked about my grandson so was labelled an old fart from the off.
When I posted a pic I was accused of posting an old pic (it wasn't) and when someone gave me a backhanded compliment and said I must have been nice in my 20's, someone else chipped in with 'Yeah, the 1920's'.

I have CRS disease, "Can't Remember Shit."
I'm 75 years old and my brain is declining, so I guess I come by it honestly.

Walter Mitty has steered clear. Probably working on arguments for an upcoming Supreme Court case.

Yeah. I've lied. I'm actually a lonely millionaire who is trying to give away his fortune. Send me $300,000 in unmarked US dollars and after 6 weeks you will receive one million dollars tax free. Trust me, I won't lie to you and if you believe this crap I feel sorry for you. LOL
