I like your moving FONT script, very unique and entertaining too; but then it's what makes the community forums fun. Despite the 'haters' that can't enjoy the fun side of that or the emotioncon images too! LOL

There has been a lot of rain obviously, but I often go out into the sunshine, so I think it's been fine. So far, we haven't had one of those ghastly heatwaves that we get every year, and I'm hoping we'll escape that this year.

We have had some horrible heat waves the last few years though. I have to work in that heat, and I can't be doing with it! I like it warm and sunny though.

Re: Weather
Overbearing heat isn't good for a lot of people.
I get hayfever so when it's summer I get a kind of dread.
I don't take any antihistames because I don't think they work. I've never known them to work on anyone tbh.
I just don't scratch it if it itches: eyes, nose or throat, it tends to go away after about 10-15 minutes.

Y'all are getting temperatures nearly as high as our overnight lows! (upper 70s).
During the day it's getting up to nearly 100, with heat indexes of up to 108 ... this is what I picture I'm in for every time I go outside:

Well, la-de-da ...excuse me while I go wring out my shirt; just came in from doing chicken chores and OMG it's so F'k'n humid & hot out there. More rain in the forecast for tonight too
I bought a watermelon - wasn't a very tasty one either - so I kept the best part {center section} and sliced it up into sections for my hens ...so they're having a feast and just clucking away enjoying their goody. The other day it was cantaloupe; so they've had some good snacks this week.

Being on the coast, we get a marine layer each morning, which means cooling fog until about 11 am. Only then does it begin to heat up.
But y'all, being in-landers, don't have the moisture to anchor the temperatures. I remember in Phoenix when they could have a 40° swing.
Typical late morning around here...
And with the marine layer earlier in the day...

Closest I've experienced to that would be a week in LA, the breeze blowing in off the Pacific around 6 every night was so refreshing
But essentially, summer is winter in Texas - - you don't want to go outside and it makes the year feel long...

Re: Weather
Los Angeles was beautiful when I was a kid, before the smog really moved in to stay. My father would take me on trips. Just south of Santa Barbara you would pick up the smell of the sweet orange blossoms. That would mix in with the gentle off-shore breeze and it would be a balmy paradise.
You can see why the original stars gravitated to the place. Of course, it's no longer like that. And the stars only live there because the business is there...you don't want to be left out.
It's still beautiful to see. Just south of Ventura you turn off Highway 101, onto Highway 1, the Pacific Coast Highway, that follows the waterline through Malibu and into Santa Monica.

Yeah, California's great, blah blah yadda. I will prefer Texas to the end of my days, sir, and all your balmy weather shall not alter my disposition
Re: Weather
AS FAR AS Temperature extremes go, the maximums and minimums for down here in the Hunter Valley region, during my lifetime so far, would be
Maximums :
45°C here near the coast, 47° inland a few miles, up at Singleton;
(for Australia, the highest I have heard of was over 56°C over in the WA 'outback'..).
Minimums:
Around here, about minus 6°C some Julys;
Maybe minus 10° to minus 12° up in the mountains and Barrington Tops plateau -- about an hours drive NW from here;
(Coldest in Oz has been down in the Snowy Mountains, on the NSW-Victoria border, officially minus 23°, but I've heard of one unofficial minus 26°..).
All minimums are before any "wind chill factor" is added onto them..

The Texas summer is an annual test of character. You either survive it or you do not.
If you don't, Texas is not your home. It's simple and straightforward. It's God's Favorite Place's way of weeding out the unworthy

Really, having lived through so many Texas summers, I think I'd get used to the rain. Just like many Brits would get used to the heat (a lot of our Brit transplants say they came here because they love the heat).

I don't mind heat, if I can spend all day swimming and sleeping/lazing around ...then eating and back to swimming.

I lived inland, in the Valley of the Sun, for long enough. Phoenix is hot, dry, flat, ugly and dusty. Finally, every cell in my body said get us back to California and the Ocean.
Never regretted it.

Re: Weather
Living near the sea if the weather is good is idyllic.
We have a static on the coast in Wales....a good indication of what the summer has been like is how many times we have been in a year.
If the weather is nice there is nowhere else I would rather be, if it's cold, windy and wet it's the worse place in the world.
This year so far we have been only 3 times.....and it's the 2nd week in July already.

Same here! In Texas it's tough to escape the heat and the summer feels like it lasts five months (oh wait, it DOES last five months) -- and I'm not talking about highs in the 70s, more like the 90s and 100s for five straight months.
I actually got mad at my dog yesterday evening, because he only wanted to go for a short walk, kept trying to drag us home. Well, we had a very rare summer cool front blow in and it dropped to 76 at around 8 p.m. -- felt like jacket weather by comparison.
**HAIL** Mother Nature, very pissed at North Dakota ...
A dear friend out taking photo's of all the horrid HAIL damage
in the Killdeer area of North Dakota - yesterday! OMG
4" - 6" of hail fell in a very short time!
The sounds were so horrible and sustaining that quite a few of the oil field crew - former military service men, ended up at the hospital suffering from trauma/PTSD
reaction to the sounds/memories as that hail pounded the hell out of their vehicles and homes!
Unbelievable and the insurance adjusters nightmare; the business district was hit hard as well but she hasn't up loaded her photos of that area yet.

british weather set to improve after "brexit".
as we all know the rain is supposed to fall mainly on the plain in spain, however due to E.U qotas and (being as its a lefty construct) there has to be an equal sharing of misery......it was decided that along with our OWN rain we had to have a share of spains to...(about 50% by the look of things).
Once we are out of the E.U we will be able to refuse this extra and un wanted rain, and send it back, thus bringing the expectation of better summers in the future..
Brexit...you KNOW it makes sense.....
