Sealing the borders and becoming an island race with strictly controlled in and out borders would make us no better than North Korea.
Our relationship with the EU does need refining , way too expensive membership at present, but leaving it completely comes at too high a price.

He was talking about the EU and the Government frittering away our sovereignty, national power, and controls, but I would also include the selling off of national assets which you mentioned. After all, if you sell them off, you lose national power and control to an extent.
