Different issue altogether.  The Japanese attacked us in their war of imperialism over the Pacific.  We merely defended ourselves in the best way we knew how.  We won...what a surprise.  There are many examples in which the Americans are blameworthy (of imperialism), but our war with the Japanese was not one of them.
