Refugee Crisis: Government Sitting On Empty Buildings At Least The Size Of Wembley Stadium, Or 2,100 Family Homes
The Government has empty buildings that total more than the floor space of Wembley Stadium, or more than 2,100 family homes, the Huffington Post can reveal as ministers scramble to find space for thousands of refugees they have promised to house. David Cameron will this afternoon announce how many Syrian refugees the UK is to accept from camps on the conflict-torn country's borders with reports suggesting the total could be more than 10,000.While pledging to give councils funding from the overseas aid budget to pay for accommodation in their areas, a Conservative local government chief has warned authorities will be put under added strain given cuts and long waiting lists, and said Bob Geldof's pledge to personally house asylum seekers was "pie in the sky". A recent Government response to a written question in Parliament reveals the state owns a vast amount of empty space, but may only be a fraction of the true figure.

seems the lefty liberalist alliance is quite selective when finding things out....

I agree its apalling why they have not brought this up before for those who need homes, but it does show there is places that can be used and should be used.

The homeless should have priority and I bet there is more properties lying vacant also which the Governemnt should take action on.
You will find the same with the NHS with redundent buildings, the Railways etc.

It's truly pathetic that your country has failed its servicemen so badly. The U.S. has a similar problem. The tax-cutters and "job-creators" get into office and it's anathema for them to use available resources on the needy. Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry refused to dip into our rainy-day fund worth billions of dollars to help keep schoolteachers from being laid off at the height of the recession.

Having a hard time following the parallels I've drawn? Or a hard time recognizing that servicemen can be needy for the same reason teachers can be laid off when the state has plenty of money to pay them?
The right victimizes those who don't have the power to fight back, and aligns itself with and supports those who have the power to oppress.

The right certainly haven't done a thing to help our homeless vets.
Veterans organizations were upset with Senate Republicans after they failed to gain enough votes of support to move forward with a measure that would have expanded federal healthcare and education programs for veterans. The GOP argued that the bill would bust the budget.
Senate Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-VT) sponsored the bill that would have waived the VA spending cap that was previously established in a budget deal approved by both Congress and President Obama last December. Sander’s office estimated the legislation would have cost $20 billion over the course of ten years.
60 votes were needed to waive the budget rule. 41 out of 45 Republicans voted against it and killed the bill.
Reuters reported, “Supporters said the measure would have brought the most significant changes in decades to U.S. veterans’ programs. For example, it called for 27 new medical facilities to help a healthcare system that is strained by veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.”

This has been said quite a lot really and it does stink, our own people ex service and non ex service live on the streets with little or no help and we suddenly bend over backwards to get refugees settled here...
These refugees will not be properly vetted, they could be anyone or anything and we just let them in.. crazy...
It's all well and good saying it is the right thing to do, actions have consequences some times dire consequences......
But why are we not looking after our own people with the same huge heart we seem to have for every other nation but our own...

its obamas fault, if you give him full credit finishing bush's work on OBL, then you have to give him full credit for failing the vets
