Ireland's Gay Day
First topic message reminder :
Yes vote to equal marriage, Eurovision is on, apparently al rainbow over Cork, has to be officially the gayest day in Irish history.

There's no need for you to be so rude anyway. I'm not rude to you in that manner, even when you're being dense.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhtttttttttttttt! So if a group using a symbol to represent them they have 'hijacked' it? Well the British rugby team had better give the Lion sign back etc etc etc. And I've never know Eilzel to be dense, disagreed with him many times, but dense is not a adjective that can be applied to him.
I'm not dense either, but that didn't stop the pair of you saying I was. In fact, the three of you are so judgemental, and what's absurd is that none of you even realise that you are.

And in Ireland of all places...
The media have just been showing loads ed gays and lesbians who are obvious supporters of it but they only make up less than 1% ofthe population with the majority of the rest being cold towards homosexuality and even more likely to be against any homosexual marriage.
The result snacks of a fix... simple as that.
Whine, whine, whine, it's a fix, it's a fix, throws toys out etc etc etc. Ireland has got totally pissed off with the church and it's teachings after all that has come out about paedo priests and the abuse of children and mothers by nuns and their influence in now zilch, less than zero, and the people have emerged from behind the cant and rubbish and have finally started thinking for themselves. Your views on Ireland are so behind the times they are laughable, bit like you.

No you didn't - you just took a post out of context and pretended it related to something it didn't.
You're a nasty old bigot Didge - I'm much more tolerant than you. You need to take a good look at yourself and realise you're not quite as marvellous as you think you are.

Tommy, what is being voted on is irrelevant. You claimed 62% is unbelievable- why? If a vote can only go one of two ways then there will almost always be a clear winner- you're just butt hurt (pun intended) that even traditionally religious Ireland is leaving you in the dust.
Rags, you are so bitter it is painful haha. And if I'm ever being as dense as you on this issue then do please let me know

You idiots will overlook the suspiciously bogus looking result because it has delivered the result that you want...
I honestly think that the majority of Irish people would have voted against this.
And I'll bet there are plenty of Irish people saying exactly the same right now too...!!!

Which is your only claim to being a fix, your outdated view of the Irish.
Hence why you are very much wrong and your claim is unfounded.
Post up your evidence as bitterness and sour grapes does not count?

Tommy: 'the result looks bogus' ... But can't say what the result 'should' have looked like.
Says, 'I honestly think that...' ... But fails to realise the very words make this just his own baseless opinion.
Recent polls in Ireland put support for gay marriage as high as 80%, so if anything this result is lower than expected (but still fantastic!)

It's not bitterness or sour grapes... Ireland is another country.
It affects me not one bit.
I'm just being honest.
But you lefties don't like the truth or anyone who doesn't subscribe exactly to your agenda...!
EU referendum was a fix.
This snacks of a fix too!!!
The numbers for the 'yes' are suspiciously large enough to be able to claim an overwhelming result that doesn't need another vote but by doing that it also looks far to unrealistic a result too... I don't believe that many Irish people would be in support at all!!!
And when you actually think about it you know I'm almost certainly right...!!!

Yeah... a poll asked 100 people...80 of who were gay... and surprise surprise it came back as 80% in favour...
As I said... the result has been fixed high enough to be able to avoid another referendum but too high to be realistic!!!
It stinks!!!
Irish people will be talking over the next few days. and quickly discovering that hardly anyone said yes and realising it has been another stitch up!

Oh dear, you have cut me to the quick, not!
You see Tommy, I believe in going forward, not living in the past like you, and the thought of being a Right Whinger would make me want to jump off a cliff for being so vile.
So you keep hugging your hatred (so many Right Whingers seem to be so full of it).
And on that note:
PS, I don't Right Whingers know right and wrong exists, just what they want and stand on the neck of the rest.

How very 'progressive'...
You mistake honesty for hatred... shows how twisted you really are... because you lefties hate honesty and truth...
To you, everyone must follow the agenda... or else!
Why won't you admit that the EU referendum was a stitch up and consider the possibility that this was a fix too?
Obviously to people like you, rushing through your favoured agenda is more important than democracy or free and fair votes...!?
That is why you are no better than the fascists of old.

Matti, you are totally delusional, so up your own egotistical arse that if things don't follow your expectations you throw out every excuse under the sun. Gay marriage isn't the EU. There is no reason for a fix here even it if was suspicious. What this highlights is the rapid dissolving of your antiquated, bigoted world view- get over it.
Stick in the mud? I just don't see why everything has to be turned into a "gay" thing these days. I don't give a shit what the "gay community" thinks. Why do they have to claim things as their own?]
They're just finally getting marriage, which hetero people excluded them from for centuries -- but they can't have a freaking singing contest?
Re: Ireland's Gay Day
Tommy this is a free and fair vote. To you its only ever fair if you get what you want. No doubt had the vote defied expectations and been a no you'd be praising democracy in action- you are completely delusional.

Not to mention that no Irish political party or politician backed the "no" vote, which many Irish conservatives have been moaning about ever since the result. Anyone could have seen the handwriting on the wall -- hopefully next, Ireland overturns its barbaric abortion laws.

So a group of people that suffers bullying, hateful rhetoric, that ends up committing suicide over how society treats them far more often than straight people do ... who are called sick, degenerate perverts who rape children because of something they were born with that causes them to love people of the same gender rather than the opposite ... you can't even let them claim a singing contest?
That seems extremely petty and frankly, kind of evil, Raggs. I think you have a lot to learn about compassion.
