Wars of words - Page 4 Empty Wars of words

Post by Andy Mon Aug 18, 2014 8:59 am

First topic message reminder :

Is anyone else sick of the wars of words aimed at Sassy and Ian Bru , in particular by what can be perceived as a game go mentality be Nems, Didge and Eddie.
It makes ugly reading, is no better than Flop, and will drive e posters away.
mods must be above all the crap a daily rate shouldn't take sides.
I am surprised Ben has allowed it to go on for so long.
It will destroy what is a really good forum.

DO YOU mean it wasn't Stephen' seen releasing that personal info' online last year; nor setting up his attack threads against me June/July last year !?!   (Besides which, I wasn't even on the FFForums "ten years" ago; and their attacks started a year or so after I joined..).   Surprised

Sad   YOU are becoming a cold hearted woman in your dotage,  Mog's..

TRUTH be told, LD, I believe that you only want me for my body these days, don't you !    tongue

Quill kept saying in the PM underground thread that he'd known Stephenmarra since 2004. I did ask you to show me this "personal info" you keep saying Stephen published. As you haven't afaik, all I can say is I haven't seen evidence of it. As for the idea of marra starting threads to attack you, dude, really?

It was publications about Stephen, mogs, not by him.  Here, I'll run an example of it again:

A female fashion website has secured a £350,000 cash injection.

First Active Media, which operates the Female First site, has bagged the investment from the North West Fund for Digital & Creative.

The firm, based in Ashton-in-Makerfield, near Wigan, will use the cash to enhance the content on its web page, as well as recruiting extra sales and marketing staff.

David Sharrock, former managing director of MEN Media, joins as non-executive chairman, while digital marketing expert Martin Boddy joins as a non-executive director.

First Active, which has 12 staff, started out as an online retailer but has turned Female First into a broader lifestyle site. It attracts two million monthly unique visitors.

Managing director Stephen Reay said: “We are proud of having created such a successful, high-quality site with our own limited resources.

“The new equity will allow us to complete our strategy of developing the UK’s leading online women’s lifestyle site.”

The North West Fund for Digital and Creative is part of the £185m North West Fund, financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Investment Bank.

It is managed by AXM Venture Capital Limited. Investment director David Smith said: “When we first met Stephen Reay, we were incredibly impressed with what the company had created from a small office in the north west.

“The team has a clear plan to build on the site’s huge popularity, using the Fund’s investment to grow the team and fully capitalise on the website traffic.”

The First Active management is also injecting a further £25,000 of equity.

£350,000 cash injection.

Tons of additional personal information have been posted on his website.  I am no longer a member, but you are.  You might look it up. All of the information I posted on his personal goings-on, I got from him on FF. And likewise, he was posting info on me from the same source.

Hmm, but if this info, whatever it was, consisted of things you'd mentioned about your background on FF, is it not possible you'd offered the same info on Speakfree, where Stephen was a member?

I'm sorry...I've lost track.  What is your point again?

My point was that both Stephen and I were talking about our well-publicized backgrounds on FF.  It was Stephen who started it up on SF.  My single post was in the manner of saying: Look, we can both 'out' each other...what is the point?  My argument was that bringing up old rivalries from other sites is senseless.

I suppose it's like in football...it's the second penalty that always gets called.  (Actually, it wasn't a violation because it was all public domain, but for the sake of argument...)  When I spoke back to Stephen, the sassy posse went all up in arms about how I was 'outting' poor Stephen.  They completely ignored the fact that he had started it.

Anyway, this topic was put to rest a month ago.  Why are you bringing it up now?

What on earth has made you drag this up again? Not helpful. Not necessary.

I'd rather thought lovedust was against petty squabbles.

Locking the thread.

I'm unlocking this because LD says she had a response she'd like to give. Let's keep it civil and it will be locked up again later.

Fair enough. Seems a bit odd that she'd want to rehash an argument that had died down.

Isn't that what people were moaning about?

Well. I responded to your reply to me the first I saw it, which was last Thursday.
Firstly, if whatever he mentioned about your background was stuff you'd already shared and elected to volunteer, that doesn't sound like some sort malicious attempt to "out" someone.

Second of all, it's unlikely Stephenmarra had past rivalry with anyone from Femalefirst for obvious reasons. He could have learned about your background from things you said on Speakfree, which would put paid to the notion of him following you round. Just wanted to say I think he's a good bloke and you have him wrong IMO. Sorry others find my comment "not helpful"; in my view it's actually worth setting the record straight.

Setting the record straight for who though? Stephenmarra isn't here and who else cares? Quill knows what the truth is. Perhaps I you wish to continue the fight LD a PM would be best. As Ben said Sleep Sleep
