CllrSue Gray, a Labour councillor on Thurrock, has been suspended from her Party after forwarding an racist email. Deal town and district councillor Bob Frost also made a reference to "frogs" on the social media website.

It is the latest in a string of race controversies Cllr Frost has faced.

He has previously been criticised for referring to 'ragheads' on Facebook, while during the London riots in 2011 he was suspended from the Conservative party for using the term 'jungle bunny.'

The 'jungle bunny' row led to him leaving his job as a part-time maths teacher at Sir Roger Manwood’s School in Sandwich, although he was later cleared of wrong-doing by the standards committee in 2012.

The latest incident was sparked by Twitter comments made on March 28 when Cllr Frost responded to a post by MP Charlie Elphicke referring to a possible change in management of the Port of Dover.

Cllr Frost tweeted: "Simple. Status quo = bad. Sale to frogs/sons of camel drivers = bad. Mutual ownership = good."

Two Tory councillors have been suspended from the party after sending a racist joke to an email list including Ribble Valley Tory MP Nigel Evans, the mayor of South Ribble, and fellow Conservative councillors.

Simon Farnsworth, a Ribble Valley councillor, sent the joke on to Ken Hind, his fellow councillor and a former Tory parliamentary candidate in Selby and Lancashire West at the 1997 and 1992 elections. Hind then sent it on to a long list of Tories, including Evans; DW Parkinson, the mayor of South Ribble; and other South Ribble and Ribble Valley councillors.

Marriage has been equal for everybody for ever, any man can marry any woman.

There is a difference between ending persecution of gays so they are treated equally, and redefining marriage so a couple of men can pretend to be the same as a male/female marriage.

Tommy, why are you against gay marriage?, I used to be against it too, until I read a tragic story about two young gay blokes , whom one of them died and his partner was treated like shit from his boyfriends family and left without the right to say goodbye to him...

I won't go deep into it, but it made me think differently.

I voted Labour even though I am not very happy with them at all,it was a tactical vote.In my area no one has any chance of getting any votes except Labour or The Tories and there is no way I want the Tories possessing any more power. They are a disgusting bunch of elitist hypocrites.

I wish there was a PROPER left wing party to vote for,but there isn't.There is the socialist Labour party but I know naff all about them except it would be a wasted vote.

There needs to be a return to legitimate LW politics.

The majority are for homosexuals to have the same rights that we have, so it seems you are the minority left in the past unable to progress as society has done, thus the issue is your own and of your own making, because again it is you trying to deny equality to many people who are part of our society. Your only absurd argument is you disagree, sorry the majority agree to equality and what should be asked is why you cannot accept the majority view?
So nothing is being even forced onto you because nothing actually affects you in any shape or form.

Thus you are the problem yourself and the issue not the homosexuals themselves as all they sought was the same equal rights, which is not forcing anything but obtaining the same rights
