Say! Where'd you get that user name?
First topic message reminder :
I think we might have done this before, a long time ago, but it'd be interesting to hear some of the newer member's name origins.
Right now I'm going with a goof name, but I think I've said before that Ben Reilly was the name of the clone of Peter Parker (Spider-Man) who became a superhero called Scarlet Spider.
I've always wondered about some of the names -- particularly where veya_victaous comes from

Bank of England theatre in Aldwych, London (probably doesn't exist any more) and an amateur theatre group near a place called Heswall in the NW, so far as I can remember. It was written as a children's play and never hit the professional stage, sadly. I wrote it as "escapism" when my life was at its lowest ebb. My late wife and I were at the Bank performance and I got a stage call...bloody embarrassing because I am, by nature, a modest, shy and retiring person....
Any transcripts survive ? I would love a read
Heswall?! Thats Woollyback land on the Wirral they are well weird, and tight!
They may be Woolybacks, but they were a nice audience!
I have one of the original scripts...unfortunately on one of those historic Amstrad PWC floppies! I later re-wrote it as a traditional English pantomime and have a couple of the scripts for that, but unfortunately the publisher went out of business before I could make my fame and fortune. Story of my life!

I used this username many years ago when I used to be a WUM (without realising it!!) at an early age.
I would go into right wing american chatrooms with this name and tell people they should not own guns or eat meat.
American redneck types would be passed point the brink of sanity at my audacity shouting 'you lie Fluffybunny, you're no better, you eat meat and you said last week you bought a leather purse'
I thought it was jolly good fun

Hi. It's a carry over from my time in shortnews. I was too lazy to think of a new one. This one is unique enough where I'm not 263 of something.
I think I'm a bit jaded and I like foxes and there's a fun movie that had a character named Jade Fox. Perfect meeting of several interests right here.

Yeah, still one of my favorites. I remember a review that said "it's everything we go to the movies for" and it was one I thought actually lived up to that level of endorsement ... not like "Slum Dog Millionaire," which I found to be vastly over-hyped.

Hate to break it to you but 'Jade fox' is pretty much a trope in Hong Kong films

I used to be a big fan of B (or maybe C) grade martial arts films. probably every third female character in the 80's low budget films was called 'Jade fox' and half of them were some how involved in 'trying to steal Chinese artefacts for a unspecified European arts collector' that also happens to be a martial arts master

That's cool, I never took it further than watching seated next to my dad on weekend mornings, when they used to show all the kung-fu movies on TV. Badly-dubbed glory!
It was a serious fad here when I was a kid, in fact, this was the No. 1 song in the U.S. the day I was born

My brother wanted to be a Stunt man and some of the stunts in the lower budget films are awesome..... Scorpion Style... just crazy

I just thought it was a fun action movie. Nothing really more. Besides it's original enough. I haven't had any problem getting this as a user name anyplace else.
