A failed Afghan asylum seeker who stabbed his wife to death because he feared being deported if she got a divorce has been jailed for at least 17 years. Farhad Safi, 22, had applied for a residence card after marrying his Polish college girlfriend Orina Morawiec, 21. She converted to Islam but the relationship quickly deteriorated because of his possessive and controlling behaviour. The Afghan became angry if his wife wore make-up or went out to see her friends and threatened to kill her if she left the house.

yeah you would have thought failed asylum seeker would have meant he was sent home, he now has at least 17 years here, kept by the tax payer of course.
