"I was one who thought that Covid does not exist. Until I got sick," he wrote in his final post
A superfit Instagram influencer who said " Covid does not exist”, then died after contracting the virus, wrote a tragic final post.
Fitness coach Dmitriy Stuzhuk, 33, wrote a post saying his condition was “stable” before succumbing to the killer bug.
He shared an update with his one million followers after he caught coronavirus, even posing shirtless for photos as he received oxygen in hospital.
The dad-of-three, whose youngest child is just nine-months-old, wrote: “I want to share how I got sick and to strongly warn everyone. I was one who thought that Covid does not exist. Until I got sick.”
On social media he appeared to be in perfect health as he promoted sports and healthy living but his ex-wife Sofia Stuzhuk, 25, who announced his death, said Covid-19 had triggered heart complications.

bless him feel sorry for his family.
I was listening to an American nurse who was freaking out about treatment saying the danger with using ventilators, it forces the virus into the lungs is far more dangerous that not using it, I will have to fond the link.

So now the story is elevated to a thread of it's own; the system works...hooray.
The episode is a testimonial to how being cavalier about the virus can kill you. It is uncanny how 'up and down' the course is that the virus can take. It's almost as if the virus has an adaptive feature—a tactic—and is 'suckering' you in for the coup de grace.

He died of heart problems... There is talk that he was a user of anabolic steroids which are more likely the cause...

Yeah, healthy folks his age with no underlying conditions, are probably more likely to die from falling off a horse.

"And for infected people under 40, death was uncommon at only about one in 10,000 – an IFR of 0.01%."

Something tells me that the 1 out of 10,000 who catch it and die, haven't seen the inside of a gym in awhile, unless they do so after getting a little juice.

Precisely. No one is saying that Covid-19 kills in a vacuum. We've had this discussion before: by your logic, no one died of terrorism on 9/11...it was all blunt force trauma and a few related heart/lung conditions.
The point is, any virus weakens the system and merges with other debilitations, causing death. Nature doesn't work in straight lines and distinct categories.

I honestly think if the people who are in denial about the seriousness of this virus were in the vulnerable age group....ie over 60, even more at risk over 70, and goodnight bleedin Vienna over 80, they may not be so damn nonchalant about it all.
It makes me laugh the way younger people think they are immune it's just the oldies who have to be careful... so shield them. How exactly?
The figures are plainly showing, for the second time since this virus hit, that the more younger ones who get infected, they inevitably infect the older generation....and as has been mentioned a million times, it's the older ones who are dying off.
Which proves that EVERYONE should be following government guidelines IF they don't want to kill off their or someone elses parents and grandparents.

Unless someone lives like a hermit, and many older vulnerable people have already done that for EIGHT months......what do you call taking 'necessary precautions'?
All the experts agree that that the more younger people who get the virus, this filters through to the older people getting the virus.
Which is exactly what is happening right now... and if you saw this afternoons Downing street update, and saw the detailed maps that outlined exactly that....you would know.

What are those precautions? And what is carrying on as normal? Your choice of the term 'precautions' suggests there is something to be cautious about. Counterposing 'normal' as an alternative to ‘precautions’ suggests a certain recklessness about existing normality.
I think you are tacitly admitting that acting ‘normal’ is ill-advised, or incautious, not only for the self, but for the community. Thus the 'precautions' are well justified. The fact that you are admitting it subconsciously, shows that your arguments are political and disingenuous.

It's not paranoia, not unless the whole world is suffering from it.
But put it this way, I, like billions of others worldwide am doing my bit to try to keep myself and others safe. I want my kids and grandkids to get back to a normal life as soon as possible. So, by following the advice and using my own common sense...and in spite of selfish fools who think they are above all the advice, rules and laws that have come in to protect people and beat a deadly virus that has so far killed well over a million people, I wont be putting my own needs first.
What you do is up to you.

have you heard of mass paranoia, the whole idea is people who cannot think for themselves are fed a constant narrative until they believe and act accordingly, if every stuck there head in the oven, would you do the same, being right is seldom about numbers.
you have no common sense, do the math a tiny mortality rate, mainly already ill, people tested, mainly false positives, people told they had it but showed no symptoms, it's all there and it all screams fake.
yes what I do is up to me but fools would prefer I was forced to do what they do, that is why the left is inherently wrong.

Coronavirus is spreading again., especially in the NW area, the hospital admissions, IC beds and deaths are rising again at an alarming rate.
This is a virus that spreads by human contact and close proximity.
The UNI's opening again, people trying to live a more normal life, workplaces reopening is part of the reason....which is why some areas have once more gone into a similar type lockdown as when the pandemic first started, or Tier Three as it's called now.
The other reason is selfish gets like you are determined to carry on regardless, I see them in my area all the time, 3rd rate rebels without a cause, defying social distancing rules, not wearing masks, in and out of each others houses and gathering in large groups...totally oblivious to other more vulnerable people around them.
No one should be 'forced' to act responsibly, people should want to do this voluntarily , but till it hits home to them personally, some, like the lad in the OP just carry on regardless....sadly for him it's too late now.

Its not even about older people or those with current illness dying from this virus, thinking its only them is like saying why bother to treat people after a certain age or particular illnesses which maybe cost a lot or have little hope of recovery or those that have accidents where treatment costs a lot - let em go. Its about medical services becoming overwhelmed and being unable to treat others with other illnesses for much longer, how many people have to die and not just from the virus before some selfish people open their eyes to the situation.

Two new peer-reviewed studies are showing a sharp drop in mortality among hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The drop is seen in all groups, including older patients and those with underlying conditions, suggesting that physicians are getting better at helping patients survive their illness.

you need to stop watching the bbc and sky news, more people are testing positive because we have a test that is unsuitable for it's job and keeps showing a huge false positive, the numbers of those dying as a percentage of those tested is not rising.
I know nurses who have been told to test, turned up but the queue was ridiculous went home without taking the test, to get a message days later they are positive.
No people should have the choice on how they behave, as a lefty they shout for freedom of choice in everything sexuality, beliefs but suddenly it does not suit them that others chose to not be like them and wear a mask.

The other reason is selfish gets like you are determined to carry on regardless, I see them in my area all the time, 3rd rate rebels without a cause, defying social distancing rules, not wearing masks, in and out of each others houses and gathering in large groups...totally oblivious to other more vulnerable people around them.
No one should be 'forced' to act responsibly, people should want to do this voluntarily , but till it hits home to them personally, some, like the lad in the OP just carry on regardless....sadly for him it's too late now.
you need to stop watching the bbc and sky news, more people are testing positive because we have a test that is unsuitable for it's job and keeps showing a huge false positive, the numbers of those dying as a percentage of those tested is not rising.
Yes I am well aware more people are testing positive because more tests are being done.
Are you aware that hospital beds, ICU's and deaths are rising rapidly because more people are getting seriously ill again with coronavirus.?
I don't watch most of the news either Sky or BBC, I do keep up with the updates and news from various other sources though....you obviously prefer the ostrich approach.

there is no rise in deaths as a percentage of those allegedly tested positive and the numbers positive will rise as we move in to another seasonal flu, it happens every year, statistically obesity is still a bigger killer but no one is locking down fast food shops and pizza deliveries or forcing people to go to the gym, perhaps if people were made to keep their masks on while eating the death rate would drop.

How can you link obesity with the corona virus, you don't infect someone else with obesity. There may be a high death rate for obesity but that's only that person unless of course they fall on someone else when they collapse.

it still kills and it still has other knock on effects, it takes up hospital beds, nurses times, ambulance times and it is very controllable with education.Vintage wrote:How can you link obesity with the corona virus, you don't infect someone else with obesity. yet it gets no hysteria or mention.

The scourge of obesity is always being talked about, it's forever being mentioned in the press, in hospitals, GP's dole out leaflets about it, and kids are encouraged from an early age to eat healthily and exercise more...as are adults.
Sadly many people take as much notice and follow guidelines to control it about as much as they do the coronavirus.
Which is why both are deadly killers.

At the moment our local hospital has around 60 patients ill enough to be hospitalised with coronavirus, while I'm sure they have their fair share of obese patients with various conditions I very much doubt they have 60 patients at the same time blocking beds with morbid obesity.
Its a small regional hospital.

a single morbidly obese patient could block several beds.lolVintage wrote:At the moment our local hospital has around 60 patients ill enough to be hospitalised with coronavirus, while I'm sure they have their fair share of obese patients with various conditions I very much doubt they have 60 patients at the same time blocking beds with morbid obesity.

Smoking is a good example actually.Maddog wrote:Syl wrote:The scourge of obesity is always being talked about, it's forever being mentioned in the press, in hospitals, GP's dole out leaflets about it, and kids are encouraged from an early age to eat healthily and exercise more...as are adults.

Smoking kills, as does passive smoking, which is why smokers are not welcome in enclosed public places where they can inflict their unhealthy lifestyle on others.
This is widely accepted, yet oddly, many are refusing to follow rules, laws and guidlines to protect others from a killer virus.

Is it widely accepted? I've never been a big fan of smoking bans when we're talking about adults.

Yes it is, in the UK it would be unusual now to see someone lighting up indoors in a public space.Maddog wrote:Syl wrote:

Apart from the fact it's illegal, other people, smokers and none smokers alike wouldn't tolerate it...it's just a way of life now..

We still have some bars you can smoke in. People that dont like smoke just stay away and go to places where it's illegal.
It's a crazy concept but we still have some vestiges of a free society in lieu of living on the benevolent masters plantation.
