G'Day

The first known European explorers (Dutch,  Spanish..) reached Australia in 1606...

The first wave of Aboriginal settlers/ancestors, though, arrived some 50 --> 55,000 years earlier..

I know that...but "Als I Lay on Yoolis Nacht" was written and hit the charts, so to speak, some 300 years before Europeans arrived "down under"...and we do, these days, tend to talk about geographical discovery as occurring after Continental plates had stopped drifting around and bashing into each other.

If we're talking Texan Christmas songs, here's the one:

Ben Reilly
Ben Reilly
King of Texas. Gigantic Killer Robot. Robin Hood of Epping Forest. Fifty Shades of Cray.

My outright fave is "Silent Night". Sung by a good choir in a Cathedral. Truly exquisite.

Here's my favorite. I believe it's French, and interestingly enough, it was written by an atheist:

Ben Reilly

King of Texas. Gigantic Killer Robot. Robin Hood of Epping Forest. Fifty Shades of Cray.
