The Sound of Silence
Probably the best version you will ever hear.

Never thought this was me, until I really thought about my life. Daddy did indeed say Grace before we ate
Re: More favorite songs
Totally hokey, but this is an awesome song when you're from the American south

That's beautiful. Have you heard this?
One of those moments you live for
Re: More favorite songs
Fantastic story. Can anyone explain it? I think it invites so many interpretations

Simon and Harrison. Brilliant.
As a matter of interest, Mike Masse and Jeff Hall are playing in London in April.
Mrs HA and I have tickets.

Can't print photo's. I once went out with a Farmers daughter, Sting's Fields of Gold, brings it all back.
Can some one post it?

Re: More favorite songs
You too Nicko
Another favorite is this performance by Elvis, which after he then next performed on the Ed Sullivan show, ED had him filmed from the waste up only because of his gyrating. Makes you laugh to think back then how they tried to ban his moves. So for the fact he helped change a generation with his music and moves, plus the song is brilliant, adds that much more to the song itself..

Re: More favorite songs
Everything she did was great imo...I loved the ballads best though.
We were lucky enough to see her live a few times and her voice was exactly the same live as recorded...she had soul.
Off to do stuff I've been putting off all day, laters.

Re: More favorite songs
Couple more country songs -- the first one is a big favorite, and while I like the second one quite a bit, I'm also posting it because a lot of people are surprised to hear lyrics like that in a country song:
Re: More favorite songs
A stunning version and a fitting tribute.
Are our US posters aware of these guys?

Never heard that, it's my favorite Bowie song! They did it justice.

Not available in my country! Damn corporations ...
I'm sure it was good though, I'm a sucker for Christmas classics.
Re: More favorite songs
A cover of a cover. S&G did the original. The cover by a REALLY heavy band called Disturbed, this is a version of that.
Weird, but very intersting.

Re: More favorite songs
Some more Texas Red Dirt country here, I like this song because it shows why people do a lot of the things we deem immoral or criminal:
