A teenage girl was groomed and raped by up to 30 Asian men - including a father and his schoolboy son - during an horrific sex attack lasting six hours, an inquiry heard.

Campaigner Shaista Gohir MBE detailed abuse of the young vulnerable Asian girl in a shocking report highlighting how rife grooming was within ethnic communities.



She claimed that sexual exploitation and grooming of young Asian girls by men of the same ethnic origins was happening under the noses of authorities - with community leaders, schools and families are all too ready to dismiss the attacks or even cover them up.

Muslim and women's rights activist Ms Gohir used the harrowing Birmingham case, involving a teenage girl who was allegedly raped by between 20 to 30 men, to call on authorities to do more to tackle the issue.

The attack was said to have taken place over six hours and included a father and son, who was in school uniform, and taxi drivers who turned up in groups.

The report, presented to Birmingham City Council, followed interviews with 35 victims, as well as several sex attackers from Muslim communities throughout the UK.

OFFICIALS MUST STOP 'TIP-TOEING AROUND RACE IN SEX-GANGS'


MPs said public officials must stop 'tip-toeing' around race when tackling child sex gangs and claimed that there is a trend of Asian gangs targeting youngsters.


A dangerous trend of Pakistani men grooming young white girls does exist, according to a Commons home affairs committee report in June 2013.


Police, prosecutors and social workers must be able to raise the issue without fear of being accused of racism, the committee said.

it doesn't matter what the ethnic background is people need to be aware rape gangs like this exist and to be careful, if it risks upsetting a few asians or who ever then that's the way it has to be, protecting the population is more important than perceived racism.

One of the major problems as Gohir says is getting these girls to report it. it is likely they will be ostracised by family and community if they do

I think most youngsters know the score these days (hopefully).

One thing which may stop them knowing the score is if they go to "muslim schools" as opposed to a normal, British school.

As has been highlighted many times over the last 14 years - there are entire "communities" cut off from British society.

Sorry - that was an answer to you saying they (asian girls) fear reporting the offences.

I believe white girls, on the whole, do/did report things, but things were kept hush hush.

Please don't try and make excuses - there is obviously a problem within certain communities which has been said many times and it needs dealing with for these young girls sake, there's plenty of sex crimes in all sorts of communities but there seems to be a particular problem here probably because the perpetrators are more confident as it is so difficult for victims to speak out. Think of them for a change and leave the pc racism thing out of it.

That shows this is not being taken seriously as to get to the root cause of such offenses you look at all those involved, for some reason though you and others are only interested if they are asian, so nothing to do with racism, though you always make it a racial argument, which shows how inept you are on the matter, as men are the real issue when it comes to child abuse

Its not to do with racism, every crime needs to be taken seriously and every aspect of every crime taken into account ie in this case the culture that sees this crime as a dishonour to the victim and their families, in others the culture of turning a blind eye because of being scared to be seen as racist also the culture of turning a blind eye because of celebtrity etc etc.
All these things give people confidence to commit these crimes individually or in a group against those of their own community or outside their community - everything needs to be taken into account background everything that may have a bearing on these peoples behaviours, you are well aware of what happened with the Asian gangs because the authorities were so cowed by the fear of being called racists and that's exactly what you are continuing to do.

But we have 95% white British pedophiles in this country so by your own flawed logic being as that is over representative of the white British population by a long margin, then clearly there would be a culture problem with white British people. Surely if culture plays a part with some ethnic groups then if this is a factor it must play a factor in a culture where the percentage is so very high, in fact the numbers are so high, over 30,000 Pedophile convictions, that is staggering. So what is the culture  reason behind white British men?

I am not disputing the inaction of the services, that though is a failing, that though does not though show why only one group is looked upon with their culture and not another, that means the methodology behind who commits these acts is being badly looked into, because I do not dispute culture may play a part of those who do commit crimes, so this factor should apply to all who commit sex crimes

Of course it should didn't I mention the cult of celebrity etc. This 'don't mention anything' for fear of humiliation was pretty common in this country some years ago, for a woman to be raped had much the same problems as in the Asian communities perhaps not quite so pronounced but it was there. There was always the hint of she must have asked for it, she was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, she was alone, she'd had a drink, look what she was wearing and all the rest of it, that kind of 'culture' gave the thumbs up to a lot of opportunistic sexual predators. The fact that most paedophiles are white in a population of what is it, 56 million whites, doesn't come as a suprise but you need to work out the percentage then work out the percentage for non white (can I say that) population to get a prespective, then see which has the highest percentage of each population otherwise it means nothing. Why people as scared to speak the facts is beyond me. After all I suppose the number of British paedophiles is probably quite high in some places like Thailand for instance probably because they seem to be able to get away with their vile activities more easily, if its true I'm not afraid to hear that, I am sad for their victims, I just wish they'd be caught, thrown in jail and the keys lost.

I think actually that the majority of the indigeneous white populations agree that sexual relations with under age girls is unacceptable. Unfortunately culturally in the asian comminity it isn't.
