First topic message reminder :
I ask because I woke up yesterday feeling like s**t.
I blame sitting in the Dr's waiting room (and it wasnt even me who needed to see him) I swear Dr's waitings rooms and planes are the two best places to catch something horrendous.

"In addition to breathing in infectious droplets, passengers could be getting sick from touching seat backs, tray tables or faucets in the bathroom. Experts agree that the dirtiest part of an airliner is the tray table, which is why many passengers bring disinfecting tissues and wipe them off. Lavatories are next. Gerba’s studies showed fecal matter on the door handles."
ha ha ha, talk about picking and choosing what you want to read
What did the article actually say?(Inside Science) -- It’s flu season and the passenger four rows behind you is coughing. How likely is that you or other people on the plane will catch the flu?
The answer is: not very.
You said planes are breeding grounds for germs. They are no more or less breeding grounds for germs, than any place that people frequent
That claim was utter crap and you know it
This is a clear example of yet again, you not admitting when you are in the wrong
At least I am humble enough to do so, what is apparant, is you clearly have zero humility
The person coughing might not have flu - obviously.

So Didge, why do you keep having flu jabs every year if you don't need to?

Do you not agree that if someone is not infected with the influenza virus, they can't pass it on to someone else, whether they are coughing or not?

You agree with me then, that someone who is coughing might not have flu, and if they are not infected with the influenza virus, they can't infect someone else with the influenza virus.
Good, I'm glad we sorted that out.
Now as you're getting drunk and abusive, you can go and argue with someone else and leave this discussion to the intelligent people.

Well Syl what ever it is. flu, pneumonia of some sort or whatever, I hope you will feel better soon, keep up with the fluids and sleep let your body get on with fighting it off.
I became fed up with the way this thread was going again last night, no point in making an observation.

Thanks Vintage, it's just a bad cold I think, the kind that makes you feel really rough though, I haven't been out of the house for three days and tbh I dont care, I am staying in till I feel human again.
Yes I exited the thread too yesterday, no point in keep going over whats already been said.

I didn't look up anything to do with heart attacks because they are not relevant in this thread. Please stop trolling and going off topic.

Was it flu you had though? I had a cold and then pneumonia on top of that, which was pretty bad, so goodness knows what flu would do.

I dont think it's the real flu, just a virus, but we say flu. I've had real flu twice, God you know it's flu. Knocks you bandy.

No problems for me either.
Of course there's always the conspiracy theorists reason not to get a flu jab - governments adding stuff to the flu jab, still using mercury in them and flu jabs causing narcolepsy, which could be true in my case, other than I've always been an Olympic standard sleeper.

Re: Colds, flu and other nasty lurgies...have you had any yet?
I had a bit of a sore arm this year , as did a few other people I know who had the jab, but as far as I know no one felt ill afterwards.
My virus wasn't caused by the jab, I an convinced I caught something a week or so later sitting in a dr's waiting room.
Anyway....it's taken well over a week, but I actually feel bloody great now.
There is nothing like being ill to make you appreciate life to the full once you get better,

It's good that you're feeling better Syl. At the time I was ill, I thought I never would. I'm not sure I appreciate life more though. I have to go back for a check up though, so it's not over yet.
I think some people do feel a bit ill after the jab, or perhaps they catch a cold or something and think they're having side effects from the jab.

No. If this was the case, then people would only need one flu jab in their lifetime, wouldn't they?
I've upped my exercise, zinc intake, and maintain a healthy gut. That's what's changed. I go swimming most days, and since upping the exercise, I've so far not caught a cold for nearly a year. Before that, I'd get a cold most years but not the flu. Fingers crossed my immune system is boosted and will stay so. Colds and flu are transmitted via touch too, so I always use an anti viral spray when I go out and about.

I've been having flu jabs for years, firstly because my late wife was asthmatic and later because I'm diabetic. They've never had the slightest bad effect, I'm glad to say.
Prior to that one jab, I'd had it before with no ill effects. But that one jab made me really ill, and I did a bit of research and decided I'd try not taking it. So far, so good. It's all about personal choice. It's my choice to try to boost my immune system naturally. I'm asthmatic so any cold will go to my chest. It doesn't have to be flu. I've had viral meningitis too, that was a fucking beast. The only time in my life I actually wanted to die.

This is the first time I've had the jab, even though I could have had one for free every year for the last four or five years. I don't think flu is that common really. I'm not sure I've ever had it - perhaps once, but I'm not even sure it was flu.

The trouble with these sprays is that you'd have to use them all the time. The advice is to wash your hands a lot, but you can't really do that every time you touch a surface or touch something someone else might have touched. Not touching your face might help though.

I mostly use the anti virus spray before and after going into the supermarket. I hate shopping in supermarkets at the best of times particularly when you've got some selfish twat sneezing and coughing without covering their mouth.
