I still find it so surprising that not one media source or journalist, picked up on the amazing fluke of falling and managing to grab a balcony at such a speed (and by such a small person) and the pure incredible strength of this boy who held his own body weight for nearly thirty seconds.
That’s a far more amazing story in my opinion. That’s something that some people train years for.

I once defended a case whereby a construction worker fell off a scaffolding and onto some vertical (6-foot) rebar, which penetrated his anus and went into his lower organs.
The insurance adjuster who assigned the case to me, commented: "Not your average rear-ender, innit?"
The man grabbed a piece of the scaffolding as he fell (just as the boy in this case) and the rebar began to penetrate his rectum. It saved him. I, too, was amazed at the ability of the human body to stop a fall of that sort. Apparently, if you're strong enough, and have the motivation, you can do anything.

I’m not sure we can compare small children to grown men but I take your point that miracles can happen.
Which is why I’m amazed that no one picked up on that side of the story.

Did he toddle to the edge, then kneel down and slide over whilst grabbing the ledge? Would a child this young do that? I would think a child this young would take a step over the ledge and slip and that would be that. Dead. But then fact is often stranger than fiction, so who knows. Clearly, it's not faked. But is it staged? I don't think so. I can't really believe parents would set their kid up to be in such a perilous situation.
The other day I was scanning my city's police media portal at work and saw three separate instances of children being left in a vehicle, and it was at least in the mid-90s. People are stupid.
What I'm questioning is the child's reflexes. I looked again and there is a very high barrier that the child could not have climbed and the footage begins with the child already over the barrier. The father seems to just look on. He could quite easily have vaulted the partition barrier on the balcony and rescued his son...but he just stands there, at one point leaning on the barrier as though waiting for that guy to climb up. Not the action of a distraught father.

I thought about that. But, I would think that a child would have better strength-to-weight ability, however lack the coordination. Maybe he got lucky.

HT... the media reports all say the other man leaning across from the balcony next door was just a neighbour...
But I do find it all to be very handy for French authorities to have this 'incident' happen now... as a search of the internet for 'Mali Paris balcony' will be awash with this heavily promoted/reported/contrived story... at a time when the French authorities have been desperately trying to deny and cover up this story...
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/02/28/murder-jewish-woman-paris-reclassified-anti-semitic-attack/
Which would have been centre stage of any internet search of 'Mali Paris balcony' before this 'incident'...
Coincidence...?
He beat the old woman senseless and then threw her off the balcony of her apartment, shouting "allar akbaa, I've killed a demon/devil"... and the French authorities have been trying to keep it quiet since it happened few months ago... in fact, such a terrible racist/terrorist murder of this Jewish woman has been absent from all major news reporting outlets... why's that do you think...!!!???

Its not the father, but a neighbour, who does reach across and start to pull the child towards him..
Why would a 4 year old not be able to climb a a balcony barrier, that has grills?
In fact it makes it that much easier for the child to climb up and over
Just as some even younger kids, are able to climb up and out of their cots
You can see the neighbour reaching out, with a clear barrier, between the flats to try and pull the kid along
You can even see the neighbour helping the kid more towards him and he is clearly using his feet to help move to the right.
Its also why the kid was able to hold on, as he was holding on with both his hands and feet.
Its why he had injuries to his toes also.

The daily mail did basically say as such Eddie
Daily Mail wrote:It was soon after 8pm that the child, who was wearing Spider-Man flip-flops, climbed over the front of the balcony and then dropped on to the front ledge of the balcony below.
'How he didn't keep falling at this point is beyond belief,' said an investigating source. 'Instead he seemed to stick to the side of the building, like another little Spider-Man'.
Today, the mystery neighbour confirmed the little boy had fallen from the fifth to the fourth floor of the building. The man, who has not been named, can be seen in the video grabbing the boy just before Gassama arrived.
‘The little lad was bleeding from the toes, and had lost a nail,’ the neighbour told Le Parisien newspaper.
He added: 'The boy was very brave as he had fallen from the floor above, before catching the balcony just below!'
Asked why he had not simply climbed over the partitions between the two balconies, and lifted the boy to safety himself, the man said: 'Given the configuration of the balcony, I couldn’t lift him. I didn't want to risk letting go of his hand, I preferred to move slowly.'

If Mamoudou Gassama had taken slightly longer to climb, I have no doubt the neighbour would have coxed the kid more to the right and then when nearly below him. Been able to pull him up. Mamoudou Gassama, basically reached there, as the boy was being pulled across and no doubt, saved the boy before the neighbour. Hence to me the neighbour deserves credit here also

And isn't it funny that nobody saw the child on the outside of the balcony above...!

Re: Spiderman who scaled four storeys to save a child dangling from a balcony is invited to the Elysee Palace by President Macron as Paris mayor promises to help the Malian immigrant settle in France
Well what nobody has noticed and again it points to the views Eddie made, is how strong this kid was
You can actually see this. By the fact where the kid is at the start of the video. Hanging on to the grills with hands and feet. You can even see, he has lost a slipper, the left foot and hence why. His foot must have taken some of the force to stop him falling. Hence the injury to the toes on that foot.
You see his hands are not even at the top of the railings. It proves beyond doubt this clearly is not fake. As incredible, the kid starts to climb.
So maybe Tommy can explain how the kid is managing to climb up the grill? This kid is strong and clearly shows how and why he was able to get over the grill barrier at his own flat.
This also shows how the neighbour was helping
So Eddie does have a very good point, how in fact this kid incredible.
Started to actually climb up. So there is no way this was faked. The kid actually tried to start to climb back up and pull himself over.
If you watch the many videos and press pause, doing frame by frame, you will actually see this happen.

There is a number of clips here, clearly showing the kid using his feet on the grill to support himself and help him move up and across. It proves beyond doubt this is not fake and why this kid is also quite quite extraordinary.
I think the kid actually climbing back up, proves beyond doubt it was never faked.
As I say, enlarge the video and pause, doing frame by frame.
No doubt Tommy will next claim the kid, is actually a midget adult stuntman..

Those outside balcony panels look very much like glass to me in all those vids and still images... with child 'floating' around on outside very much like holding nothing, like it was superimposed using some sort of 'video shop' software...
And child 'lost a slipper on left foot'...?
Only for both feet to look like having footwear in later shots...!?
The more I see didge post... the more it all stinks...!!!

I don't think that is glass, tommy. Here is a close-up of the barrier at the end of the building, to the left of where the action is:

What looks dodgy to you?
The still frame picture or the multiple video's showing the kid climbing, moving across using both his feet and hands?
You tell me Tommy?
Did you actually look at all the video's and pause them and see what I have presented is in fact correct?
You want to go off a still frame, when you have the video's to do this yourself?
Your argument has sunk faster than HMS Hood.
