‘Trump Baby’ Balloon for President’s Trip to U.K.? London Mayor Says Yes
LONDON — A week before Cheeto-Faced Ferret-Wearing Shit Gibbon’s working visit to Britain, the mayor of London has allowed an additional participant in the city’s welcome reception: a giant orange balloon of the president depicted as a baby in a diaper.
The balloon was approved amid “Stop Trump” protests planned for the visit starting on July 12. Activist groups and trade unions organized an online petition calling on the mayor to allow the effigy to be flown over Parliament. It drew over 10,000 signatories.
Mr. Trump’s visit to Britain was originally scheduled to coincide with the opening of the new United States Embassy in January, but it was abruptly canceled with a message on Twitter from the president saying he did not want to inaugurate the building because the Obama administration had paid too much for it.
British and American officials speculated that the real reason Mr. Trump had pulled out of the trip was because of the risk of large-scale protests.
At the time, the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan — who has had a long-running feud with Mr. Trump and his son Donald Trump Jr. — said the American president “got the message” from Londoners who “love and admire America and Americans” but find his policies and actions “the polar opposite of our city’s values of inclusion, diversity and tolerance.”

Childishness is in fashion, is it not? It draws attention to a unique message, and as any marketer will tell you, that's the nature of modern day politics.

This is insulting to a President.
Khan allows this, meanwhile does nothing about the knife crime on London's streets.

Jesus, what has happened to the sense of humour of people
Trump is human and like anyone has to earn respect and if he cannot take piss take, then does not deserve to be President
Ridicule is part of free speech and anyone bothered over this piss take is a clueless idiot

Yes, Didge, I agree. I’ve been saying for a long time that humour is subjective. You find this funny and others don’t...
Subjective.

So, that is the alternative? If we prevent the balloon from flying, are you promising all crime will disappear?
If you can guarantee that trade-off, I say go for it. Otherwise, why propose it as an alternative? Fly the balloon and stop crime, I says. Try 'em both!
Sure won't hurt...and it'll be another holiday occasion, long as the rain holds and the creek don't rise.

Unfortunately, Nicko, Khan is simply too bloody thick to appreciate just what could be the consequences, particularly economic, to London of taking such a high profile position in what is nothing more than a calculated and deliberate insult to the elected President of this county's greatest and most influential ally.

If it's flown, what a childish insult to an elected President. We have had many despots and cruel Dictators welcomed here with nary a protest from the left. Trump has never tortured and murdered his opponents unlike some who have been invited here !

Actually no, he is not our president. First, he was not popularly elected. Second, he committed fraud against the US, with Russia, in manipulating his election.
Frankly, we are going to have to impeach him and undo everything he has done, from Supreme Court appointments, to tariffs, to tax cuts, to international accords...and flush the toilet after he and his sort are gone. They were all fraudulently obtained.
Democrats always have to pick up after Republican destruction, from the Iraq war, to the economic collapse of October, 2008, and now world tariff wars. Republicans have reinvigorated the American taste for rape, murder, kidnapping, torture and concentration kamps...and god only knows how we are going to put those families back together again.
Meanwhile, we might as well keep patriotic sentiment going with anti-Trump parties all over the world.

Britain is welcoming the president of the US. His state visit was downgraded, if people want to legally protest against him thats their right, but for thr Mayor of London to condone even encourage this insult is wrong.
If the queen was insulted in such a way in the US it would sour relationships between the 2 countries, and as we appreciate mutual support, it's stupid and petty to insult the head of a country like this imo.

I feel sorry for you, if he is deemed acceptable for your country.
Enjoy the little children Trump has stolen from South America. I'm sure Trump and the Russians will put them to 'profitable' use in the east end.

The problem here, Quill, is that while you as a US citizen, lawyer and Democrat have every right to question the legality and legitimacy of Trump's Presidency, we in the rest of the world have - here and now - to accept the conventions of international diplomacy and to accept Donald Trump as your President and Commander-in-Chief.
So far as the UK is concerned, that means that he is fully entitled to recognition as President and Head of State of the United States of America, and should be treated accordingly - not only by our own Head of State, Her Britannic Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God (etc) but also by His Worship the elected Mayor of London.
Khan is treading a very, very dangerous path and one that could cause incalculable harm.

What would some people be saying if we’d flown a balloon depicting Obama?
You cannot have one rule for one, and one rule for another simply because you don’t like someone.
It’s highly hypocritical.

Okay, I think it should be fine to fly a balloon of Trump, Obama, May, Putin, whoever, because FREEDOM!!!! Heads of state don't automatically deserve respect just because of the office they hold.
And especially now, when we have Trump acting like a pseudo-dictator, people need to speak up. If anybody thought Obama or May or Putin were acting out of line, they should speak up as well.

Ring of steel goes up in Regent's Park to shield Trump from protesters
A plea to British people to take Donald Trump’s outrageous utterances “with a grain of salt” was made today by the head of the US Republican party’s supporters in the UK.
Sarah Elliott said she herself had been embarrassed by some of Cheeto-Faced Ferret-Wearing Shit Gibbon’s comments, including sexist remarks about crotch-grabbing, but appealed to people not to take his words too seriously.
As new fences and counter-terrorist concrete bollards were installed at the US ambassador’s residence in Regent’s Park ahead of his visit, Ms Elliott admitted: “There are a lot of things I wish he hadn’t said.”
“We share history and values and we face the same challenges in the world.sd Our countries work very closely together no matter who is president or prime minister,” she added.
But with demonstrations against the president planned on Friday, Ms Elliott said she understood the controversy that he generated.
“Of course I get it, he’s a Marmite character, you love him or hate him,” she said.

I certainly agree with the freedom to put up any balloon, whichever president. How it is interpreted is another story. The power to interpret goes to the people.
People who opposed Obama...there balloon was because of racism. Everybody knew that. That would be the clear message that everyone would understand.
Symbolically, Trump bears the stigma of bullying and a dictatorial style. That would be the clear message that his balloon would remind folks.
Left or right...the message is what flavor the individual leaves behind. You know, Charlottesville was clearly a demonstration. But what it showed is another issue. There are demonstrations on the left, but its not the act of demonstration, but the legacy the movement leaves behind.
To the relief of many on the left, Charlottesville proved (and forewarned) that America is presently a white nationalist country, led by a white nationalist president. I don't begrudge them their demonstration, but the people will judge what it means.
So, freedom to fly a balloon is like freedom of speech...just don't be surprised if it turns around and bites you in the ass. You fly issues...the response belongs to the people and is out of your hands.

In this tit-for-tat mindset, RW'ers try to obscure wrong from right. That is how the rats sneak in with the sheep.
If we're down to comparing Trump with any other (lawfully) elected official, then I no longer wonder how the Germans were duped.

When people can’t debate without insult, it simply means they don’t have the intelligence or they are out of their depth.

The president of the Dis-United States isn't God; nor is he president of the world..
I totally agree, Wolf. People don't realize that he is the capo of yet another New York crime family. He ducked his head into politics, merely to avoid the 'rain' that was coming at him from the Southern District of New York. There are no more John Gotti's or Joe Bonanno's, but that doesn't mean the space wasn't filled by a D. Trumpo.
If people don't realize that organized crime is still going on, go buy a ticket to see The Equalizer. It depicts reality in the raw. The business is still alive and kicking, only instead of Italians, they are Russians. If anything, they are more hierarchical, which explains why they are not just a family, but a whole nation.
They are not just playing for drugs, prostitution and protection; they have moved on to oil, technology and whole countries. Who wasn't watching when Russia took over Crimea? Who missed the Russian invasion into Syria?
But the Russian mafia uses the same tactics as the Italians did. Indeed, the term gambit is derived from Italian chess play: gambetto (meaning "to trip"). The dangle, kompromat and bait-and-switch are all subtle forms of Russian gambits used to lure the unwary in by Russian agents. Who knows this better that the former head of the Soviet KGB?
For example, if a mark is obsessed with money and sex, one might 'dangle' a 19.5% portion of a nation's oil company, or obtain 'kompromat' in the form of video of the mark cavorting with prostitutes, and ultimately 'bait and switch' him into becoming a president of the strongest nation on earth. And voilà, you own it all by being the Capo-di-tutti-capi, of the entire affair..
But in the end, it's just sleasy flim-flam tactics to fool the mark. In the 19th-century western United States they used to call them snake-oil salesmen, given their use of all the gambits to separate the unwary from their wallets.
And here these European rubes have fallen for it. The mark (Trump) is even a relatively minor player in the Sting, and these guys are treating him like some king or emperor. It would be comical, were the joke not on the institutions of western democracy.

Yeh, right...
I'm the most stupid, "unintelligent" and clueless idiot that has ever visited NewsFix...
At least according to magica, Slydog, Horatio Twatface, eddie and any floptard that has ever lived..
Magica, eddie, Sly', and their assorted xenophobic and fascist cohorts are by far the most cleverest and smarterest geniuses that I have ever encountered.
Indeed, they consider me so stupid and "not intelligent" that they obviously believe that I should not have even been born; let alone have the gall to fight back against their lies..
Furthermore, Slydog and Horatio Fuckface are so undeniably the smarterest as those despicable lying old slags have gone as far as to falsely call me the number 1 "troll" on here; (though, it's certainly not like those disgusting old fascist sluts even know the meaning of the word..).
Indeed, I'm so hopelessly stupid and "not intelligent" that I don't even deserve to live..
After all, it's not like the old Englische bitches club (Horatio, Sly and their faithful apologist lapdog magica..) haven't been insulting and abusing me every month or so over the last couple of years, is it ???
Pathetic bunch of lying dogs, the whole nasty little bunch..

George Clooney lookalike - so what? Looks make no difference if you are ignorant and insulting. Would make no difference to me anyway.

It has truly turned into Flop Mark II.
It has nothing to do with politics, it has everything to do with crossing the line with the abuse.
