My view is what on earth is going on today within social media that is driving kids to such hate

I am not condoning their action, but what is going on that this how now become a trend?

I changed the sp when I read it back....

They are feral, probably brought up by useless parents who have no idea where they are or what they are up to. I know you cant watch teenagers 24/7 but if they have been brought up right chances are they don't act like yobs...the lad arrested is only 14, and what was he doing with acid? why was he illegaly riding  a scooter?

Many house break-ins are by young kids......feral IS the right word to use.

Lack of parental guidance ?
You mentioned internet access before....maybe if parents actually WATCHED what their kids were doing online, prevented them seeing God knows what when they are barely out of nappies, kids wouldn't be able to watch stuff not meant for them.
By the time they re 14 they should be a product of their upbringing.

How can parents watch what their children are doing online all the time 24/7?

Yes they can check their history, but the point is it should never even come to them going down that path.

Clearly other factors are leading children down poor paths

So I agree they should be a product of their upbringing, but even then that is not always the case.

I tend to think we have more problems now today psychologically, than we did in the past through social engineering.

If a child has unsupervised access blocks can be put on the computers etc so kids cant get into adult sites.
The problem is many parents let their kids use computers, talk to God knows who via social media, and generally don't watch what they are up to online because its the modern day equivalent of plonking your kids in front of the TV instead of actually interacting with them as a family.

I agree that kids suffer more psychologically now than ever before.

I also think a lot of that is down to lack of family guidance and not being given boundaries from an early age.
Pressure amongst peers is intense nowadays ...a lot more than it used to be sadly.

By the time the child is a teen, they have either been taught right from wrong by example or they haven't.....the law of averages says that if they are taught respect and kindness they will not be the ones throwing acid in peoples faces.
