This Girl Spent 4 Years Photoshopping Her So-Called Boyfriend, Really Disturbing...
This fantasy went on for years until her friends untangled the lie. Could this be considered stalking?
Graham McQuet and Jill Sharp are two people from Great Britain who, according to Jill's Twitter feed, were engaged to be married. She shared pictures of them taking trips together, standing arm-in-arm, and other photos typical of any relationship.
There was just one problem: they had never met. Jill had created a fictitious relationship with Graham, Photoshopping out his real fiance for images of Jill. This ruse went on for four years.
Jill's friends began to grow suspicious when they could never meet the elusive Graham. The two seemed to be very happy on social media, traveling together, exchanging loving messages, and basically showing all the signs of having a happy relationship.
But when the friends would ask about getting together with Graham, there was always some excuse for why he couldn't make it. He would have to cancel at the last minute, he would get sick, and other excuses always popped up on nights they were supposed to meet him. These friends decided to dig a little deeper to get more info about Graham and Jill's "relationship."
When they looked closer, they realized that the pictures didn't match up. For example, one picture shows Graham in front of Westminster Abbey alone followed by a picture of Jill in front the famous abbey alone. The implication was that each took the other's photo.
Her friends soon realized that the pictures were actually taken on different days. In Graham's photo, the ground is wet and it appears to be raining; in Jill's photo, the ground is perfectly dry. She had been travelling around London taking photos in the same spots as Graham.
Her friends tracked down the real Graham and alerted him to the fictitious relationship. He had never met Jill and was understandably horrified when he learned of her actions. He and his real fiance, Marianne, contacted the police and accused Jill of stalking them. However, there was little the police could do.
Graham and his real fiance are happily planning their real wedding while Jill has deleted her profile and that of the fake Graham. There is no update on whether she is currently dating someone, in real life or otherwise

Nah...how was he harmed? He wasn't even inconvenienced. He wouldn't have even know had they not tracked him down.
His image was used, but he put it up on the Internet. What did he expect? He put it in the public domain.
What's there to complain about? Speculation? Is the girl nuts? None of that is a crime.

Well...if she's strong enough she can share a smile with us. Everyone has fantasies and imaginings. That's what art is, after all. She needn't feel ashamed.
Frankly, I think it's endearing.

Not sure about endearing. She totally made up a life for herself for four years!!! There's something not quite right about that.

Insecurities.
Unhappiness
Wanting what others have and afraid to be left out.
Anxiety
Fears.
Rejection.
Desperation.
Withdrawn.
Once the lie starts, and where they are accepted, its then that must harder to withdraw from what they have started. They have become that much more accepted by those around them. Its a fatal flaw that will soon come back to bite them, as it did. Should they have gone public with this?
No, as this could be the tipping point, that could see or end up with dire consequences.
What she clearly needs is support from her friends and to learn and understand what set her down this poor path.
I feel sorry for her, this has led her to such drastic measures to find acceptance and that she clearly yearns for love. She needs friends to help her understand you cant force love to happen, but that love just happens.
Help her understand, she has friends who support and love her

Certainly she could simply be a fantasist/'nutter'...
Or, maybe she could be leading a double life.. For example, running a BDSM dungeon in her basement, and created a fantasy boyfriend as a cover story !

Or, she could be just an imaginative person, creating an alternative dream world using props available. She wasn't hurting anybody as long as she didn't try to connect with the gentleman. And she didn't...that was the doing of others.
She was writing a script in the abyss of nothingness. It's an infinite universe out there, and as long as she doesn't hurt anybody or anything...no harm, no foul. Quite frankly, she's cuter than the guy. I should think he'd be flattered.
I still think it's cute.

She's a romantic. She's writing a script about a fantasy romance. Where do you think novelists get their ideas, if not from real people? She just has a different mode of finding characters.
Cute girl...romantic ideas...playing it out only in her own imagination. It's not as if she were collecting porn. It's a cute, little girl thing.

Hmmm. She spent four years of her life lying to friends amd family, following someone - finding out where they had been and recreating photos - and lying when her boyfriend didn't show up for dates to meet friends. I think that's more than harmless fantasy!
She may not have actually hurt anyone (apart from the friends and family she lied to) but it sounds to me like she may have some kind of social or mental problem.

I've known authors that have spent more time writing books. I think that you don't see her effort as a creation of art. So your presumptions confirm your conclusions. There are some who said the same about Chaucer and Shakespeare. Galileo was tried as a heretic. Meh...
But the proof is in the pudding. She didn't harm anybody.

The guy's real gf said the police had been informed, while the lady accused said she'd apologise to Graham if she ever met him, but that the photoshopping had been done by a third party behind her back.

I wrote a long post and lost it.
This women is stealing the man's girlfriends Facebook, so it's not right.
We knew a lady who did this on another forum. All the friends on her Facebook were her. She'd stolen a young lady's Facebook and made out it was her, she conned many. I liked her but never really believed her. The stories were ott to say the least.
She was outed and vanished. Maybe took on someone else's personna, who knows.

Doesn't anyone else think it's "cute", as Quill does?
