NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS.
Will you make any?
I wont, never have and never will, because I hate lying to myself.

Re: NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS.
A happy new year to all.
My new year resolution is to CONTINUE to speak out against racism, fascism and bigotry, as indeed I've always done.
I will not do so in a relentless or OTT manner. I don't think anyone can accuse me of EVER using such a style. But I will always keep doing it in what I judge to be a reasonable manner.

It does not put me off when complete strangers accost me on forums and take pot shots at me. People whom I do not know, whom I have never chatted with, or ever said or done anything bad to. Then they post their typical nasty 'meangirl' remarks that come straight out of a highschool locker room, like the incorrigible bullies they are. I just shake my head and laugh .... and laugh.

Like my avi...I am having my first glass of Champagne of the year, it wont be the last....I love it.
This tastes odd though, the worst thing about illness is the horrible way it makes normally delicious food and drink taste....and this is a bit like alka Seltzer at the minute.

Quite a few people I know seemed to be under the weather at Christmas. I feel sorry for them of course, but I was just hoping that I didn't get anything before New Year.

I'm glad you didn't too....it's the worst time to be ill.
Anyway, onwards and upwards, the best thing about being ill is getting better cos even the mundane things you are used to doing become quite exciting.

Woohooo......good for you girl. know your worth.
I don't make any...ever, not cos I am already perfect, but because I KNOW come the 2nd week of January I wont be keeping them.
If you say you will diet (never have) or stop drinking (ditto) it puts that very thing in your mind all the time....so .it has the opposite effect.....at least with me it does.

Re: NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS.
I don't think it matters if people keep their New Year resolutions or not. New Year is of course a false concept - it's just another day, but it's useful for people to have some hope for the future if they've had issues in the past year. That's never a bad thing.

That's another way of looking at it, and I suppose it's never bad to give yourself goals, as long as you don't get too disappointed when/if you don't reach them.

The main problem with making any resolutions which are chocolate related is that there's often chocolate left over from Christmas, and it needs to be eaten.
I've eaten it all now, so here goes ...

Re: NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS.
We're already 1/24th way into the new year, and Yuletide was always a time for reflection and planning ahead.
Be resolute in keeping these three items readily avaiible.
1. fire flint
2. HCS short blade golok
3. water purifier
Oh, and start boiling nettles and add them in your soup just to get used to the taste of them.

Just wondered if anyone managed to stick to last years new year resolutions.
I don't make them but I did promise myself I would have fun, and I have.
Hope whatever you pledged to do worked out for you. x

I don't make resolutions Syl, I can't stick to them lol.
New years eve my 12yr old grandson is staying with us and after we see fireworks on tele, then we have sparklers in the garden.
We don't go out anymore, pubs want you to pay to enter, cabs are double fare, so why go out when everything we want is right here. Warmer too.
