What is Thanksgiving anyway? I hope this isn't going to be another Americanism well adopt here.

They eat turkey then - we're unlikely to adopt it - two turkey eating festivals too close to each other.

Technically, Christmas is Goose. The lazy welchers figured that goose is too work-intensive (fat must be drained too frequently), and switched to turkey...betting the kids wouldn't notice.
Often a ham is also on the Christmas table.

I must confess that I don't know the origins of Christmas traditions - we tend to stick to turkey on Xmas day and ham and cold turkey (not the drug reference) on Boxing Day.

Nice one Major. They've been rolled over so many times. They are now fighting to stop having pipes put under the river they have on their land, another lie told by Government.
Anyway happy days to all in America for today.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving...
The day that Americans celebrate that time when the Natives taught the Euro' settlers how to grow Zea Maize ('sweet corn'), and hunt and stuff turkeys..
Before those Euro' visitors turned on their hosts, stealing their lands, and slaughtering hundreds of thousands of them.
