President Trump - Michael Moore
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I gave it to you straight last summer when I told you that Donald Trump would be the Republican nominee for president. And now I have even more awful, depressing news for you: Donald J. Trump is going to win in November. This wretched, ignorant, dangerous part-time clown and full time sociopath is going to be our next president. President Trump. Go ahead and say the words, ‘cause you’ll be saying them for the next four years: “PRESIDENT TRUMP.”
Never in my life have I wanted to be proven wrong more than I do right now.
I can see what you’re doing right now. You’re shaking your head wildly – “No, Mike, this won’t happen!” Unfortunately, you are living in a bubble that comes with an adjoining echo chamber where you and your friends are convinced the American people are not going to elect an idiot for president. You alternate between being appalled at him and laughing at him because of his latest crazy comment or his embarrassingly narcissistic stance on everything because everything is about him. And then you listen to Hillary and you behold our very first female president, someone the world respects, someone who is whip-smart and cares about kids, who will continue the Obama legacy because that is what the American people clearly want! Yes! Four more years of this!
You need to exit that bubble right now. You need to stop living in denial and face the truth which you know deep down is very, very real. Trying to soothe yourself with the facts – “77% of the electorate are women, people of color, young adults under 35 and Trump cant win a majority of any of them!” – or logic – “people aren’t going to vote for a buffoon or against their own best interests!” – is your brain’s way of trying to protect you from trauma. Like when you hear a loud noise on the street and you think, “oh, a tire just blew out,” or, “wow, who’s playing with firecrackers?” because you don’t want to think you just heard someone being shot with a gun. It’s the same reason why all the initial news and eyewitness reports on 9/11 said “a small plane accidentally flew into the World Trade Center.” We want to – we need to – hope for the best because, frankly, life is already a shit show and it’s hard enough struggling to get by from paycheck to paycheck. We can’t handle much more bad news. So our mental state goes to default when something scary is actually, truly happening. The first people plowed down by the truck in Nice spent their final moments on earth waving at the driver whom they thought had simply lost control of his truck, trying to tell him that he jumped the curb: “Watch out!,” they shouted. “There are people on the sidewalk!”

Re: President Trump - Michael Moore
Trump getting the Repuglican nomination is not Trump getting elected. Where has Michael Moore been? Indeed, we've been saying that all along.
Look, for over 5-years we have known and discussed that the Repuglicans are on the back-slide of life. Yes, they are apt to do weird things. They might even nominate a cheetos comb-over, who fooks over Americans for sport. But that's a party in its death throes, seeing it's political theory flash before it's eyes in the critical moment.
Predicting the death of the Repuglican Party is not the same as predicting the demise of America. In fact, it's 180º away. America is doing fine, Michael. You picked the wrong thread to pull. You did fine prognosticating the end of the 'dark-side'; but you undid the hem when you prophesized the end-of-the-world.

Quill, I wish that you were right and Moore was wrong, but somehow my instinct tells me it's the other way round. I'm scared for the whole bloody world at the moment.

Wait and see. I predict the lowest turnout in ages; both candidates are unpopular and a huge margin of people will vote by not voting. But in the end, people hate Trump a whole lot more than Clinton, and she will win.
Before leaving the subject I have to say that the whole case against Clinton is ginned up. Benghazi? Emails? There's no there, there. She did nothing wrong.
In my view, the one thing wrong with Clinton is that she is center-right in the Democratic spectrum. She panders to big-money Wall Street and is too cautious on more liberal issues. But that's her political stance, not some geopolitical wrongdoing.
BTW, VP candidate Tim Kaine did a marvelous job with his speech at Florida International University on Saturday. I think he turned a lot of heads.

Well, if I was one to allow the 'ILK' of M. Moore to predict my future {unlike those well documented by Nostradamus or any Gypsy with a wagon & smudged } he's had some real misses in his predictions and yet he's been quite out spoken about social issues like: nation wide health care very much in need right here in the USA.
So what the hell is his purpose now for speaking out now '?', Oh, ya ...he's not blasted anyone since his rants from 2014 when his hack attack about POTUS Obama went rather flat - like some of his other lame/missing the mark predictions.
Some time's he's got the right issue to push and sometimes he's just spewing 'SOMETHING' because he needs to stay viable.
And look who thinks M.Moore was important enough to drag in here; Awwww another HRC basher our very own Veya
Here, Veya ...you can join M.Moore's wing nut social group - vote for his predictions and become a member of his supporting internet world > https://u4see.com/said/michael-moore

I think you are a little harsh, veya. She's not as bad as you feel.
I believe you feel let down. That's understandable. But the majority voted for her...and that's that. A progressive socialist wouldn't want it any other way.

Re: President Trump - Michael Moore
You have to remember that America is still in the clutches of the right wing and will probably remain that way for some time.
It was only 12 years ago that the Democratic candidate for president was forced to run away from the "liberal" label by the very culture in which he lived.
In that kind of environment, liberals have learned the code-speak to be used in mixed company. We don't think Clinton is beholden to Wall Street any more than we thought Obama was telling the truth when he said he thought marriage rights should be decided by the states.
When you're fighting that kind of fight, you have to appear centrist in the context of your culture, else you get smacked down before you get anywhere close to being able to change anything.
Clinton is someone who can improve upon what Obama accomplished, and Obama is someone who understood that the American system of government was designed so that change comes slowly, incrementally and not without stupendous effort.

Judge orders Trump to pay nearly $300,000 in attorney’s fees in Doral painter’s lawsuit
The Paint Spot of Doral sued for $34,000 in unpaid painting fees at Trump National
Tiny shop slapped a lien on the property; judge ordered foreclosure date that was later canceled but Trump must pay nearly $300,000 in attorney’s fees
While developer Donald Trump was busy getting the Republican Party’s presidential nomination this week, he was losing big in a Miami-Dade County courtroom.
Circuit Court Judge Jorge Cueto, presiding over a lawsuit related to unpaid bills brought by a local paint store against the Trump National Doral Miami golf resort, ordered the billionaire politician’s company to pay the Doral-based mom-and-pop shop nearly $300,000 in attorney’s fees.
All because, according to the lawsuit, Trump allegedly tried to stiff The Paint Spot on its last payment of $34,863 on a $200,000 contract for paint used in the renovation of the home of golf’s famed Blue Monster two years ago.
Trump National’s insistence that it had “paid enough” for the paint despite a contract, according to the lawsuit, caused The Paint Spot to slap a lien on the property and Cueto to order the foreclosure sale of the resort.
In time, Donald Trump’s company got the judge to cancel the June 28 courthouse auction after it placed the $34,000 in escrow, and the case was put on hold while Trump National’s owner, Trump Endeavor, considered an appeal.
But the lien remained.
And Cueto was asked to rule on the fees for The Paint Spot’s three $500-an-hour attorneys and two $150-an-hour paralegals that lawsuit loser Trump Endeavor will have to pay.
The golf company, according to the court file, objected to the hourly rates because it paid its lawyers $400 an hour, according to court records.
This week, Cueto ruled that the fees were reasonable, and then some.
First, he ruled Trump should pay for nearly 500 hours of legal work, since the store’s legal team had to prepare for a trial that never took place.
Then, Cueto tacked on a 75 percent “risk” fee, partly because the store’s lawyers took the risk that they would never be paid if they lost.
Total: $282,949 and 91 cents, including copying and expert testimony.
“I’m happy I have a judgment,” said Juan Carlos Enriquez, owner of The Paint Spot. “But he [Trump] hasn’t paid yet.
“You know how he says he’ll surround himself with the greatest people if he is president? In this case, he might not be surrounded by the right people.”
Trump bought the property in 2012 for $150 million then launched into a major renovation.
Alan Garten, Trump’s in-house lawyer, didn’t return a call for comment.

Yes, INDEED; 'cheeto-Jesus' and his legal matters seem to be having quite the hay day in court ...and the dichotomy between his legal issues and HRC's ...
HMMM, 30+ years and HRC's never been sued/never been pulled into court & charged with ANYTHING and yet the LIES & BS just keep getting people like Veya & little Eddie sucked into the black hole!
Oh, well ...rumors and BS are easy to spread and the simple minded that fall into line to believe that bilge will always find a home base to dwell.

Interesting eds, that you start your criticism on the second rung of the ladder.
Let's go back to the first rung: What is wrong with Hillary? Everyone wants to avoid that question. Everyone wants to treat it like a foregone conclusion. When challenged, you fabricate a faux argument that she is somehow responsible for her husband's philandering. When he's asked, Veya argues that she lied about her position on gay marriage, when it was a position, fgs. Everyone was evolving on that issue. Now, I'm waiting for someone to come along and criticize her hair!! It's that bad.
So over here we've got a woman with a smirky twist to her face; and over there they've got someone who wants to bar Mexicans, enslave Muslims and start a nuclear war in Europe. Hmmm...tough choice.

also those 'charities' and fund raisers in the Clintons name.
Plus No one can tell me HOW she is the Best LW America can put up?
President's should not be choosen just because they are party hacks.
AND I Still wouldn't vote for Trump, I would probably vote for Hilliary to stop Trump being elected
IF I were an American that is.... (silly non-preferential system)
And that factor give weigth to the conspirisy that Trump is running SO people vote Hilliary, to get her elected you need her to run against a great evil, to make her appear the lesser evil, thus Trump. Because for some reason the establishment is desperate to railroad her all the way to the oval office. (strange since she didn't enter politics until later in life, Post the scandal with Bill)
But Really If I were an American I'd be stocking up on guns and ammo

Re: President Trump - Michael Moore
Clinton is clearly the better choice -- by light years. Is she the best the Democrats could do? Maybe not, but she is the single-most qualified person in the entire country to be president; just look at her resume.
We can't force people to run for president, otherwise I think we'd see Warren poised to become president.

I kind-of-knew that you might not be getting a 'Faux Media' channel; but my old Aussie buddy pulls loads of the regurgitated BS from his FB pages that most of his 9 children share with him to ask me about as if my POV is all they need to understand - HA! How scary is that? Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question!veya_victaous wrote:4EVER2 wrote:

You've read 'something' - 'heard' something and 'JUDGED' HRC according to your set values; but your voting standards and what we have to clean up - move forward here in America isn't ALL THE HORRIFIC issues that you only read about in the press. So my vote and my long - long history of participating in our political process has never been taken lightly, but for someone that's QUALIFIED as HRC is, to be so vilified by people that just DO NOT KNOW ...well that just rather ODD.
And to keep telling me that my vote is a 'ANTI-TRUMP' vote is very displeasing as well.
Ya, I know I've joked around about that issue; trying to make light of a situation that I take very seriously and have great passion for early on when I joined up here, was just that - trying to not make waves when being attacked for SO - SOOOOO many petty other issues from so many really immature members.
