I'd never risk my life for an animal. No way.

If a house was on fire...in one door was your treasured pet dog or cat, in the opposite door was a strangers child....which one would you choose to save?
a Flawed question
either ...what was a strangers child doing in YOUR house
OR
what was YOUR dog doing in a STRANGERS house?
So you can accept the hypothetical questions on child murder, zombie attacks and the killing of strangers......but you question the fact that my dog could be in someone elses house??

this is just far too much fun to allow it to languish~~~more, more
Horrible panic/emergency situation...you're only allowed one other human to come along: which family member do you save?
Mom - Dad - Brother - Sister - grandchild ---
only one is allowed whom do you chose?

Based on your list
The Grandchild
Reasons?
Due to a disaster of this magnitude, you will need many of the survivors to be young, for there to be any chance for the survival of that species

WOW...that movie still resonates after all these years; it was just that epic, wasn't it?
And as much as my love for all my siblings/parents is & was...offering the youngest among us the opportunity to survive and LIVE is the greater good and all of those left behind would agree.
But I'd have to allow 'A' parent to replace my seat/position and stay behind --- I've had my 62 years of living!

Yes that film was unforgettable....you just knew that scene was coming all through the film and the impact was enormous when it did.
I would give my place up too if I could...tbh I have lived a lovely life and would be happy to see my place go to a worthier cause now.
