I have woken up with horrendous back ache that spread right round my middle. It's happened before, it can take a couple of days to a couple of weeks to pass.

Not annoyed - just sad. I just found out that Graham Brazier died last September.

Re: Say What Annoyed You Today
72º not our 'NORMAL' weather for this region...watered my roses today {spent the last 2 days watering for an elderly neighbor}...zero wind and the pasture fires have begun early for this BURN SEASON. The Flint Hills are burning and the smoke is drifting over my area --- now my head is STUFFED UP.

Fat chance of that, now been up 2 straight days. I'm having trouble getting my prescription refill.

Not good, I can't function without sleep I'm generally awake from 4am. I've always struggled with sleep walking, talking and nightmares. Now it's pretty much vivid dreams that keep me awake and questioning the reality.
Hope you get it sorted Ben or I could supply a lullaby but I have to warn you, I can't sing. Never let that stop me though x

That sleep debt will catch up with you eventually. I suppose people don't sleep because they lie there worrying about something.

Re: Say What Annoyed You Today
Thanks, FTL. I actually feel okay right now, and just one more night to go without the medicine, hopefully.
Raggs, I can't speak for everyone, but for me it's more like this. I'll be lying in bed, and it will occur to me that I don't know enough about, say, the Holy Roman Empire. And I seem to be unable to put off knowing. So I grab my phone and start reading about it, and then I'll follow a link to another subject, and so on, and before I know it the sun's coming up.

Not to get overly technical, but my medication triggers the brain's production of GABA, a neurotransmitter that actually inhibits thought and basically tells the brain to shut up and go to sleep. I saw a study that said people with insomnia produce 20-40 percent less GABA than people who don't have trouble sleeping.

Push that thought away, or if you're worried you won't remember in the morning, keep a notepad by the bed and write it down, then forget about it until the morning.

I might try that, seems like it could work. I actually slept a few hours tonight without taking a sleeping aid for the first time in years (literally).

I tend to like reading before I go to sleep, and found it sent me off after 10 mins or so. Then I got a Kindle, and found that that kept me awake all bloody night. It's the backlit screen. The light triggers something in the brain that wakes you up. I would imagine the light from the phone might do that too.

I keep my room as dark as possible, and do my night e-reading on a screen that has white lettering on a black background and that I've made as dim as possible. I took Ragg's advice when I woke up earlier than I wanted this morning, and forced myself to stop reading up on the Allegory of the Long Spoons and go back to my book. I nearly fell asleep when ...
The alarm went off. So that's what annoyed me today
Re: Say What Annoyed You Today
Darkness triggers melatonin, which is supposed to make you tired enough to sleep. It's perhaps best not to have any kind of screen on if you're trying to sleep.
However, it's my opinion that it's your thought patterns which disrupt sleep. You can't stop thoughts but let them wash over you or imagine them drifting away. That's why people count sheep in their head - it pushes away all other thoughts.

Re: Say What Annoyed You Today
Woke up to the doorbell at 6:30am. It was my neighbour and he told me that our car front window had been smashed in. We can't work out why as they took nothing and my stupid OH left money and all sorts in there.
Then we got a phone call telling us we couldn't pick up our retired greyhound, whom we had decided to give a home to, as she was bleeding after being spayed earlier this week.
Then the charm fell off my bracelet.
It was a guardian angel charm too. Pfffffff.

It was weird as we live in a kind of "gardened square" if you like, and so it isn't a through-road.
Makes us wonder how the hell it happened?

Ours go forward March 27th, I hate it!
Had an absolutely lovely day gardening in the spring sun. Only thing that annoyed me was a racist coward who thought I wasn't reading here when I was looking on my phone, and thought he could get away with trying to bait me when I wasn't around. That's his favourite time of day, when he thinks the coast in clear, being a cowardly buffoon.

Sleep, I leave that to people like you, you need yours to help your brain cell to work, it has so much to do being all by itself.

Have you ever thought that I am never going to let a racist bigot get away with it?

From what you have revealed about yourself on here there is nothing worse on this earth than you, you just gotta revert to nasty name calling .
Do you know, if you really try, you can improve yourself, obviously you are unhappy way way down there.
Bigotry is a sign of insecurity Stormee, and you must be so insecure. But then, being so low down on the IQ scale would make you feel that way.
And BTW, calling you are racist bigot is simply the truth you show every time you post about gays or coloured people. It is a moral duty to stand up to racist bigots and make the world a better place.
