shocked my son today
i finally bought myself a new mobile recently and all was well until suddenly i was unable to make or receive calls
i took it back to the shop and they looked at it and took it apart, and scratched their heads, and faffed about with it but nothing worked. they tried one of their own sim cards in it and it worked so they told me to ring 3 to get another sim and if i still had problems bring it back and they would take another look at it and ''try to sort something out''
i did this and explained the problem to 3 who said they would send me another sim card. they did this but the problem still occurred..so i went back to the shop and they did all the above again but said that as the phone actually worked with another sim card there was nothing they could really do.
i then went into a 3 store and wailed about my woes to the woman behind the counter who looked at it and took it apart and scratched her head and faffed about with it to no avail.
finally a bloke called mohammed (phone tech genius) walked up to the counter and she asked him about it. his immediate response was something which i couldn't understand to save my life but he gave her instructions on how to fix it and before i could say ''allahu akbar'' all of a sudden i could make and receive calls again
i'm not one of these people who is constantly on the phone, but trying to do without it for a week and being passed back and forth was actually really stressful to me and i felt overjoyed to have my phone back. i almost went on my knees and bowed to him full on Muslim style but i contented myself with just thanking him most heartily
anyhoos back home, my son comes in from work and says to me ''how was your day'' i just looked at him and said ''mohammed is my saviour''.
he looked so shocked, his face was a picture. i explained what had happened today
''shit, mum. i thought you had been hit full on by a massive religious thunderbolt. seriously, you had a look of rapture on your face'''
i didn't know my phone meant so much to me

Hahahaha, that's great! Yeah, being without a phone makes me seriously anxious. I remember when smartphones were first coming out, a guy I know said, "It's going to replace your camera, your PDA, your mp3 player, blah blah blah, but then what happens if it breaks or you lose it?" Good point, former boss who annoyed me.
