Today I am.....
...going to make some Chelsea buns. I've never made them before, so it could be a disaster. They should look like this.

Staying out of the sun mostly. Good luck with the buns - if they turn out like the pic, they'll be good.

Re: Today I am.....
I love Chelsea buns, especially with butter inside.
I actually just love raisins and sultanas and could eat them all day.
I've been to Shitscos (tescos) and done a huge food shop which my teenage son will proceed to eat at a rate of: his body weight, every hour, on the hour.

I stay out the sun too. I actually find it unpleasant to sit in direct heat. Buns are proving. fingers crossed.

Sun bathing....and catching up on housework.
Then tonight I was all set for a big food shop, got in the car, instead of heading to M&S the car headed in the opposite direction up the hills to the Tapas bar......so we ate there, got back home....and still have no food in.

What a baby.
I painted my toenails today and then put my sandals on and forgot I'd done them. That's what you call a bloody hard day.

Rubbish.....seeing a bloody great spider making a beeline for you, jerking in panic and doing your back in, thus preventing you getting anywhere near your toes to paint them...now THATS what I call a very hard day indeed.

Took the temperature in the garden this afternoon and it was 35 degrees! It's still sweltering. I love the sun, but it's nice to build up to it. Been living on pure fruit ice lollies today, too hot to eat. How did you manage to cook. Gave my two salad.

The weather has no bearing on how hungry I am or what I eat.
I never understood people that say, "Oh it's too hot for soup or chilli!"
If I fancy soup or chilli I don't care what the weather is like I eat it! Likewise I eat tons of salad in the winter for the same reason; I fancy it.

I was once out on my porch during the Texas summer when a thunderstorm started blowing in, me and my friend were talking about how cool it felt. You know what the temperature dropped to? 35.

spent most of the day in the garden to do a litle bit here and there and ended up with a makeover and now I'm knackered.
If the weather keeps up like this I'll probably do the same tomorrow.
Except for a brief thunderstorm yesterday morning it's been a scorcher here in the East of Scotland last few days.

Do you have lots of variety; from perennials to annuals or are there just specific plants that you enjoy and cultivate those more than any others?
Photo's would be greatly appreciated too.

Hashimoto's. Basically my stupid immune system declared war on my thyroid gland and is actively trying to kill it, so I need to take thyroid hormone supplements. If not, my metabolism slows dramatically (it was operating at 1/30th of normal strength before the doctors noticed it, would have helped me a lot in life if I'd known sooner).

Okay mine works the exact opposite! It's too fast and makes me feel bad! So horrible.
I have to take courses of tablets to slow mine down.

Ben, Hashimoto's is very serious. It threatens your very being and awareness. It slows you way down and can threaten your quality of life. Do you have a lump or swelling in the goiter, excessive saliva, hoarseness of voice, constant 'goddamit' fatigue? Listen to your doctor...don't play with meds on your own.

All thyroid problems are serious. The thyroid controls so many different parts of the body that it can make you feel ill in so many different ways.
It's a very invisible illness and not one that is well understood by many people.

I said it wrong -- I discussed the meds change with her before hand, got her seal of approval.
It definitely affects your life. I've been really low-energy lately, but taking a little bit more has already made me feel better. It's probably psychological, as it takes a while to have an effect, but hey

Mine thyroid is underactive, been on Levothyroxine for about 12 years now, on 175 mm a day. Like you say, metabolism slows right down. Add to that the chronic leukeamia and now OVER active parathyroid that buggers about with your bones and muscles, life is so much fun lol
