There should a law which allows police to arrest Muslim types wearing a face disguise and even rip it off if they refuse to remove it voluntary.

This vile piece of scum woman should be jailed for 10 years for the despicable lies against this police officer who without the aid of his car camera could have had his life ruined.

Why she is out on bail beats me.

I don't think that expecting people to tell the truth is "draconian". Perhaps it's very rare thing in the US.

It's verbiage. It's not violent—forgettaboutit!.

What is important is that the complaint process remains open and viable. If someone isn't telling the truth, that's a factual issue. No big deal. Dismiss the complaint and move on.

So can government dictatorships.

The defamation issue is a red herring; what the authorities opposed to the complaint process really want is punishment for an open society. People who write censorship penal laws are well aware of why they are doing it...they want to dissuade any challenge to their power. That's a dangerous concept.
