The clue to save you from such stupdity as to why Eskimos have retained dark skin. Part of the reason, is found in two words in your answer, which will help you understand.

No because it is not heat but UV light which is reflected off the Ice.
Also Eskimos are possibly first exodus like the Aboriginals.
And it is not a one to one relationship, the events still have to occur for the white genes to exist.

They eat a lot of oily fish. Perhaps their skin colour is not suited to such a cold environment, but their diet makes up for it? In fact, there is a theory that they didn't need to develop lighter skin.
