First topic message reminder :

A gay couple were subjected to a torrent of abuse in a London branch of Tesco after they shared a brief kiss in the store. Steve Luetchford, 28, was shopping with his 25-year-old partner Mattia Pievani at a Tesco branch in Brixton on Friday evening when, they claim, a female cashier verbally abused them. The woman is alleged to have said that the couple should be "ashamed" after she witnessed their intimate moment. When they challenged the woman on her views she continued to insult them, it is claimed.
They then requested that two other staff members refer them to the store manager so that they could lodge a complaint.

Yes Didge a very select group of people

Those people don't like dark skin - so they are a "group of people" ???

Are you being deliberately ignorant because you fancy a row? scratch because you're not actually disagreeing it happens , we both think it's a shame, and we are going round in circles!

You're seriously going to have to have to argue with your  reflection over this one!

Again simple question.

Can you control who you are physically attracted to?

When you have answered that then how can it be racial?

Again utter babble about skin tone as people cannot control who they are attracted to.

You are speaking gibberish Eddie

You are seriously going to have to learn some intelligence on this one Eddie because so far you are making the most daft subjective view point when everyone is individually different.

Don't let Didge put you off eddie. It's an interesting subject, and as women we're perfectly entitled to discuss these things. Didge won't get it because he's a bloke. lol!

Do your black friends say why they think lighter skin is more attractive eddie?

Black men prefer it and it's just considered nicer.
alot of black  girls dislike the fact that black men prefer white girls - I suffered a lot of bitchiness from black girls when I dated black guys - and therefore they will assume that the guys prefer lighter skin (mixed race girls and Hispanic girls are considered "whiter" and more attractive too)

Black girls also try to obtain straighter hair to look whiter -  which is crazy because white girls curl theirs!!!

It's not always admitted but it's very well-known.

I think it does stem also, from celebs looking lighter-skinned (there aren't many really really dark celebs? And if they start that way watch them get lighter!)

There's a certain colour within black communities called "red-skin"
It's actually a sort of "tanned looking" mixed race colour? That is always strived to achieve.

Oh and I need to add, for didge's benefit - that these views ARE NOT MINE!

I know you understand rags but Didge will think I'm being "racist"
Obviously. lol!

Of course I understand eddie. As I said, there is a forum out there populated largely by black Americans, and I was reading it last night. Of course the people there don't speak for everyone, but they do bring up the issues you mentioned.

Re the issue of black girls not liking you dating black men, is that because they consider that black men should only go out with black women do you think?

The hair issue is also interesting. Are black girls who straighten their hair trying to have "white hair"? Are white girls who have those corn rows trying to have "black hair"? That's another interesting subject, but I think that the hair issue is generally more cosmetic. Both black and white ladies tend to focus a lot on their hair. Laughing

Yes us women are never happy with their hair! I love Afros - the bigger the better - I think they look trendy and funky like a disco diva lol

I don't know whether some black girls dislike white girls dating black guys due to racial issues or "looks" or whatever - perhaps it's different for different people? All I know is I came across a lot of hostility and racisim as a side-effect.

I keep telling my mate Charlotte to register here. She's black and when I read her some of this stuff she thinks that a lot of white people "think" they know how blacks think but actually, they really don't.

She knows about the skin thing. She knows it exists. She tells it like it is lol

If you look on You Tube, there are loads of videos about hair, and a lot of them are made by black ladies complaining about their hair. There are also videos from white ladies also complaining about their hair. Laughing

Yes, the afro hairstyle was also quite popular with white girls in the 1970s. Not all girls could pull it off of course, but it looked great on some of them.

Nothing worse than too peoplke judging others based off a few individuals to make a view on who people are attracted too. Not only is this daft but each fail to understand attraction.
prehaps you should stop coming out with racial drivel Eddie, because its this kind of thing that annoys people when the people claiming it have not got the first clue what they are talking about and make racism worse with such simpleminded claims that have no validity.

Can you control who you are physically attracted to?

Really because you say so?

So one of the reasons people get so confused is they just do not understand attraction.
For example a homosexual male is only attracted to men and then it is only some men, he cannot force himself to be attracted to people, just as much as you cannot force yourself to be physically attracted to women.
When a person is physically attracted to someone, you cannot control this, you just are physically attracted.
Hence each individual cannot control who they are physically attracted to.
You will find many people may have a particular aspect that attracts them most, but its not racial thinking that creates this, its what already the person cannot control, attraction itself.
Many people are attracted to many different ethnic groups, so to claim they are only attracted to one, is just plainly wrong.
So to say its racial is just plain daft.

Look, I've talked about "cosmetic" issues, but it's not even as simple as that is it? Why do a lot of women make their hair lighter? Why do some women put purple streaks in their hair? Why do some people prefer dark skin or light skin? It's not just because they like a certain colour is it?

Now that is one thing I agree on, both yours and Eddies views on this have been hilariously bad.

Laughing

So I guess neither of you then do understand attraction hence why you wish to keep the poor beliefs you already hole.

Well that is how ignorance forms, which then developes into poor sterotypes and how issues arise between people.

Shame really I was only trying to help, but when people get silly thoughts into their heads as the pair of you have, you will not listen to reason.

I suggest the pair of you look into the psychology of attraction to understand more here, as its clear neither of you will listen and wish to continue to bury your heads in the sand.

Again saying I do not when I poroved you do not by the fact we cannot control physical attraction proved it was i that understand and that you are still ignorant here on the subject.
That is now 7 times you have failed to answer.
The reason because you simply do not understand.

Which proves my point people do not understand attraction.

It also shows racial problems within some black people.

One person outy of hundreds of millions of black people Eddie, is your case now?

Is that from your friend eddie?

It's weird isn't it because I think that a lot of people admire dark colouring. The contestants in Miss World generally tend to be dark, and a lot of the female celebs that people admire are dark too. I don't mean they're necessarily black, but dark skin and hair seems to be very popular these days.

What is the point when people want to bury their heads in the sand.

No wonder we still have racial issues today after reading this garbage.

Your friend is an idiot.
Nobody has black skin
Nobody has white skin (bar those with a certain condition called albino)
Nobody has red skin.
No wonder you are cluless on this if she is as well
Also again she is one person who has view that are born from failing to understand attraction, so ask her can she control she is physically attracted to.
She also sounds like an idiot that fuels racism

lol

Didge do you understand that rags and I aren't answering you because we both know that you're just being deliberately obtuse and misunderstanding us on purpose?

You started with the belief that we were saying one thing, then quickly realised you were wrong. You ended up agreeing with us but have deliberately chosen to Keep assuming we are saying something else.

You hate being wrong, especially on race issues.

You can claim we are racist, stupid or whatever the hell you want.

Water off a very beautiful duck's back.

You got yourself all muddled up, misread us and then tried to backtrack and ended up agreeing and now you're going down some odd path that you think will desperately "trap us" and make you right.

Point proven, enough said.
Hopefully my BLACK mate will join and you can call her racist for agreeing with me! Gay couple [claim] abused by Tesco cashier / (skin colour from page nine) - Page 11 3489511464

I think Didge is taking this a bit literally. Obviously white people don't have white skin. Even really fair white people don't have skin the colour of a sheet of white paper. Black skin isn't literally black. Red skin - hmmmmm, that might be a bit more debatable.

Of course Eddiue brainless girls who do not understand attraction and believe in racial views on this based off some twits they know or have read about to then form a daft sterotype.
I hate racism Eddie and it is this sort of shit that creates it, which you fail to grasp and it was you being rude speaking around me yesterday, which i warned you about
This is the point it is people like you that hold the most daftest racial views and fail to understand how they even create problems. I mean look at her saying red skin, which is about as racist as you can get. If you fail to see that, then you clearly are not someone that understand racial issues or how they form
I never misread anything Eddie because I grew up facing and understanding racism first hand, not something some white middle class dumb chick would have a clue about.

I hope your mate does join so I can take her stupidity to task also

Red skin is a phrase used by a lot of blacks

Its is also used as a derogative view to descibe native indians in the US, which of course you would know this also Eddie.

I am getting silly now?

This is what really pisses me off some clueles girl that has no idea of racism and how it forms, and you say I am silly and wonder why I get annoyed.

Grow up Eddie when you face such discrmination, then come back and tell me I am being silly

The term "red skin" in this context is just referring to a certain shade of skin, it's nothing to do with native indians.

Seriously Didge, get a grip. You have to be trolling more than usual.

Stupidity is what annoys me on this  topic and no doubt you form these views when your friend also holds poor racial beliefs.

Really?

You think a term defining skin is not racial in context?

Behave, as how do you think it formed?

I love how Eddie thinks this is funny.

Maybe you need s to meet some people who do suffer discrmination and then ask if its funny to them.

Yeah, he's being absurd.

I was interested in the red skin thing because for a white person, that would probably equate to being "ruddy", and I don't know any women who aspire to that. A pinkish bloom on the cheeks is one thing, but a red complexion, no. I guess it depends on what colour you are to start with.
