Besides the sun exists it is intricately required for the conception of life on earth thus there is a god we can see it, it bathes us with energy YOU just wont change Your primitive ape definition of 'what is a god' to meet the reality of the universe.
what is incorrect? the sky that we can see OR the preconceptions of your monkey brain?
If you believe in evolution and the greater knowledge of the universe acquired through Science then the answer is simple, the fault will pretty much always lie in our monkey brains

Today is Litha, Summer Solstice and this afternoon the rain stopped and the sun shone through. The scent of the rosemary and lavender, the birds nesting, I gave thanks for them all.

Why are you bumping that post eddie? It was made by Didge via one of his many subsequently deleted accounts.
There's already an atheist thread.
Why do you not say the same thing when Veya sabotages the Christianity thread?

Hmm Roman dictators, he being one of the better one, bar the fact he allowed his son Commodus to send it into ruin.
In other words his achillies heel was his sentmental values.
As to the wise words
How about people be themselves and not even contemplate such born fears?#
On that he is half right
I mean how can he stipulate what is a good life, when Rome was bounded by the slave trade?
Granted his words ring true to combat the fears people have when they actually believe in deities.
He is simply trying to overcome some of those fears.
That is progressive, but he ends with vanity.
To be noble.
What is being noble, other than being a slave to ideals?
He calls for people to emulate a want.
To be remembered. That is good but born from a need. You do not need people to remember you, they will because of who you are. Its not something you need to strive from. As it then fails to be anything worth remembering. It should come naturally
He certainly will be remembered for his philosophy.
But not his wisdon, he allowed his son to claim his leadership.
That was one major fuck up.
People remember the good and outlandish that people do in life.
For good or bad.

Also, what is the bases for Just?
Wiping out countless Germans, as he did?
Do thus then the Gods he claim as just, require a blood sacrifice?
Think about it Veya?

Oh and for the record, why even devote to something even pagan?
The reality is people when religious, no matter if pagan. Mostly place more meaning and love to something they cannot prove exists.
How about they spend that same devotion, on people who do actually exist.
Just saying.

@Didge,
live a good life, since you are nothing more than chicken in sneakers that Life gifts to Death.
Just saying
I don't think you get 'it'. He is basically saying do whatever if you can live with your own conscious on the issue.
And Fuck that, too much devotion is given to people thus the overpopulation of the planet and the extinction of thousands of other species..
Did you think about that?
that for ever stance there is an equally valid opposite, an eternal balance, the ying and the yang, nothing is good or bad for it is just a matter of perspective.
the liner morality (a defect you probably retain from being raised Abrahamist) is merely personal opinion, a side effect of ones own vanity that your life is superior to an ant or tree.
