Love the poster of the birds. Odin had one on each shoulder, their names were Hunin and Munin. One inspired him with the physical world, the other his mental/mystical world.

A lovely statement for those who care
for cats as I do.
As an aside has any one watched the film, The Incredible Journey?
I'v seen it twice and it still makes my eyes wet, the scene at the end when they all come home is most moving.
After what i'v been through I thought I was a hard man, i'm not.

Re: a wonderful daily devotional to set up pagans for the day
Thrice time three, thrice times three and thrice times three once more
All acts of negativity will now return to thee.
All bad you tried to send my way upon your own self will hold sway.
All actions, thoughts, all words of hate, becomes your own decided fate.
All the things you said to me shall blight your life thrice time three.
By all up high, by all down low, by oceans wide, by deep blue skies
By day and night, by powers three times three times three,
This is my will, So must it be.
Harm you have sent is laid at your door, to blight your life for ever more.
The words you spoke come back to you, what you did, so are you due.
Eternal flame inside of me, it must be, will be, shall be, three
No harm to me, the harm is gone, sent to it's owner where it doth belong.
All acts of negativity will now return to thee.

'Our ordinary mind always tries to persuade us that we are nothing but acorns and that our greatest happiness will be to become bigger, fatter, shinier acorns; but that is of interest only to pigs. Our faith gives us knowledge of something better:

I like that!
Universal Energy
Some day soon I'll return to thee.
I'll see the world with an eagle's eye
Or be in the sound of a seagull's cry
I'll dip in the flowers with butterfly wings
or be in the wonder the snowdrop brings.
I'll be on the breeze as it cools your brow
or in the storm as the wind does howl.
I'll be in the rivers, I'll be in the trees
and live again in your memories.
I'll melt with the spirit of those gone before
and we'll dance in the wild wood with joy evermore.
Universal Energy
Until that time comes, Blessed Be.

Some people don't understand that humor can also have sentiment
"defeat the devil with love" the fact some thought that was offensive say more about that person really

Believe that completely, if you are not happy by yourself you cannot be happy is other things. I have always loved time alone, I simply could not function without it. OH always says I'm the most self sufficient person he has ever met, love him to bits but I'm quite happy when he is off watching footie etc and when he is at work.

Learning to meditate out on the back pasture - early in life and to just listen and feel mother earth beneath my back --- it's wonderful to be alone...doesn't mean that we are LONELY!

Exactly! I meditate in the conservatory in the winter, but in the summer it's got to be outside. While you meditate all the sounds and smells of nature around you come into sharp focus and you feel really alive and connected.

I've sat next to people at conferences - seminars - long Catholic church services - graduations - etc., etc., etc., and they twist/twitch/jerk/shuffle/whisper and just annoy the Beee-Geezers out of me. They just can't sit still and obviously never tried to or have some palsy issue that's not been diagnosed ~~~
Smacking their chewing gum will just about put me up the nearest wall...

That made me giggle, they have no inner serenity. As for smacking chewing gum, that's just disgusting.

smacking chewing gum is probably infinitely preferable to them "spanking the monkey"

I can't say that THAT has ever happened any where but at the indoor theater. My husband and son and I, left and told the management --- some things just shouldn't be done in public - not at a PG13 movie - and OMG --- WTH is wrong with people
Good Grief now that memory sent 'CHILLS' down my spine~~~
