What a terrific match this was as Shalke ran the Real defence ragged all night and came within an ace of knocking them out of the CL. Unfortunately they couldn't keep the back door shut as Ronaldo grabbed a double with two headers and went out on an aggregate score of 5-4.
They were by far the better team but their first leg defeat at home 2-0 was their undoing.
