A Guardian reader in the UK reports that buying a copy of Charlie Hebdo in the charming North Wiltshire attracted the attention of the local police.

Anne Keat states after ordering and buying a copy of the commemorative edition of CH, police turned up at the local newsagency to find out the name of people who had bought the copy. Presumably, they wanted to protect her from either buying (what I personally think is) a terrible magazine or becoming the world’s dumbest terrorist.

Nothing says freedom like brandishing a popular slogan celebrating freedom of the press while investigating anyone who supports freedom of the press.

But let’s think about that war on terror…
