Oh for heavens sake why does this happen. And to think that I watched Eiight Below last night and welled up at the end. These dogs are amazing.

A lot of American hunters are "trigger happy" for instance, they have to wear bright colours when hunting in case they are shot at by hunters who think they are deer!

KILLING a protected species in a National Park !

THAT isn't "hunting" by any stretch of the imagination ~ it's illegal poaching..

THE deliberate misdirection and misrepresentations contained in that news report shows the pro-hunting/NRA and anti-conservation/protection biases of it's original sources and publication, in my carefully considered opinion... Surprised

THE breeds of dogs that would be shown in the fictionalised "Eight Below" movie ('loosely' based on the true story of the rescue of the last Aussie sled dog team from the Antarctic (and relocated to Montana..) several years ago..) would most likely be Huskies, Malamutes and Samoyeds...

FOR a movie that is more centred on the Grey Wolves themselves in North America, I would suggest seeing one of the "White Fang" movies; and maybe also reading Jack London's earlier "Call of the Wild"..
